Is Pikmin 2 timed?
Yes, on the surface. Nintendo’s product description says, “Time ticks away on the surface, but cave systems let you take your time to let your strategy blossom.” That wording matters: Pikmin 2 is not an entirely untimed campaign. Surface expeditions still follow the game’s day cycle.

Use the surface and caves differently. Surface time still advances, so keep your outdoor objectives organized. Underground, take advantage of the more deliberate pace to assess hazards and treasure before committing the whole squad. The cave system gives you room to plan, not immunity from danger.
