Which Ryzen CPU and GPU Combos Can Hit 1,000 FPS? AMD’s Reported Results

A slide attributed to an AMD China presentation reportedly showed selected Ryzen systems reaching 1,000 FPS in esports games, but the Radeon RX 9070 XT pairing did so in only two of six titles.

Reports in September 2025 attributed a slide from an AMD presentation in China to results showing selected Ryzen systems reaching 1,000 frames per second in esports games. The figures are reported claims, not independently reproduced benchmarks or results verified here against a public AMD benchmark page. The reported Radeon pairing hit the threshold in only two of six games; the two GeForce pairings reportedly did so in all six.

Which Ryzen and GPU combinations reportedly reached 1,000 FPS?

HotHardware’s September 2025 account of the circulated slide gives these results. The reported comparison covered six games, although coverage differs on which games were included.

CPU and graphics card Reported games at 1,000 FPS What the result indicates
Ryzen 7 9800X3D + Radeon RX 9070 XT Two of six, according to HotHardware The AMD CPU-and-GPU pairing reached the threshold in a limited portion of the reported game set.
Ryzen 7 9800X3D + GeForce RTX 5080 All six, according to HotHardware Reportedly reached the threshold across the full set.
Ryzen 9 9950X3D + GeForce RTX 5090 All six, according to HotHardware Also reportedly reached the threshold across the full set.

These are claims attributed to a presentation slide that was posted online, not independently confirmed measurements. The reports do not establish that other systems, game settings, or play conditions will produce the same rates. HotHardware’s report describes the combinations and counts.

What were the reported test conditions?

TechSpot says the configuration used Windows 11 version 24H2, 1,920 × 1,080 resolution, and DDR5 memory running at 6,000 MT/s with CL30 timings. Virtualization-based security (VBS) and AMD Smart Access Memory were disabled. The 1,000 FPS figures should be understood in that reported context, not generalized to other resolutions, settings, or system configurations. TechSpot’s account provides these setup details.

Which games were included?

The available accounts disagree about the titles. HotHardware names Counter-Strike 2, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch 2, PUBG, and Valorant. TechSpot names Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, League of Legends, PUBG, and Naraka: Bladepoint. Each says six games were involved, but the accessible accounts list only five and do not match. Without the original slide to settle the difference, neither list should be treated as a definitive set of all six titles.

What does 1,000 FPS mean for players?

It is an esports-focused peak, not a typical gaming target

The claim concerns selected esports titles at 1080p under a particular test configuration. It does not show that these combinations sustain 1,000 FPS in every match, game, or setting. TechSpot noted that most everyday players are unlikely to need frame rates near four figures.

Rendered frames and displayed refresh are different

A game can render frames faster than a monitor refreshes, but the display cannot show every rendered frame as a separate refresh. HotHardware reported in September 2025 that no 1,000 Hz monitor was then available to purchase; that is a dated market observation, not a statement about current availability. AMD’s Radeon settings guidance also explains that higher visual quality can reduce FPS and describes controls for balancing image quality and performance, including frame-rate limiting. This general advice does not validate the specific slide results.

What the comparison does—and does not—show

Within the reported six-game comparison, the RX 9070 XT pairing fell short of the threshold in four titles, while the two Nvidia pairings reportedly met it in all six. That distinction answers the narrow question of which listed systems were said to reach 1,000 FPS in this particular test. The reports do not provide independent replication, a complete price/performance comparison, or evidence sufficient to recommend a build on value grounds.
