Mr. Whiskey is the cat-mascot character in Dispatch. The useful developer-reported reveal is about an early version of the game: narrative director Pierre Shorette said Robert could once choose Mr. Whiskey as a character to mentor. That idea was dropped. It does not identify who, if anyone, is inside the mascot costume in the released story.
Who is Mr. Whiskey in Dispatch?
Mr. Whiskey is depicted as a character in a cat mascot suit. The sources reviewed do not identify the person wearing it. A fan-maintained reference also leaves the wearer unidentified, but that is not the same as a formal developer confirmation that the identity is a deliberate mystery. So the supported answer is the visible character; the costume’s wearer remains unconfirmed.
What did the developers reveal about Mr. Whiskey?
In a report on an interview with narrative director Pierre Shorette, PC Gamer described an early concept in which Robert arrived and chose one person to mentor, rather than managing a full team. Mr. Whiskey was one of the proposed choices, alongside Invisigal and Waterboy.
Shorette’s account concerns a discarded design direction. The team later reconsidered the game at the season-arc level, and the mentoring-choice concept does not establish Mr. Whiskey’s final role, backstory, or identity in the released game.

How does that fit the released game?
Dispatch is a character-driven superhero workplace comedy. Co-creative director Dennis Lenart told Xbox Wire: “At its heart, Dispatch is a character-driven story.” In a separate interview, AdHoc co-creative directors Nick Herman and Lenart discussed the studio’s storytelling aims, including an initial interest in an underdog-team story; neither interview passage names the wearer of the Mr. Whiskey costume.
The game follows Robert Robertson, also known as Mecha Man, after his mech suit is destroyed and he takes a dispatcher job managing a group of ex-supervillains. Players make narrative choices that affect relationships and the story, while assigning heroes to emergencies on a strategy map, according to the Steam listing and Nintendo’s US listing. Nintendo’s page, dated January 28, 2026, lists editions for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
