Check the full message and where you’re buying Robux; the fix depends on which limit applies.
Which restriction is blocking the purchase?
Roblox has more than one kind of purchase restriction. A monthly spending cap set by a parent is different from Roblox’s own purchasing limits, and console purchases may be governed by the console platform. Use the error message to identify the source before changing anything.

How to check a parent-set monthly spending limit
A parent or caretaker can set a monthly spending limit for a child’s account after linking it to an account with parent privileges. Roblox says this feature is available in most regions for children under 13. When the child reaches the cap, Roblox displays a notification and prevents further purchases for the remainder of that month. Parents can choose spending notifications, but Roblox says they are not automatically notified when the cap itself is reached. Roblox Support: Monthly Spending Limits and Notifications FAQ
Steps for the parent or caretaker
- Sign in to the linked account with parent privileges.
- Open Settings, then choose Parental controls.
- Scroll to Settings you manage and choose Spending restrictions.
- Open Monthly spending limit, enter the desired cap, and select Update. Roblox Support: Monthly Spending Limits
Changing the cap is a decision for the parent or caretaker. If the current month’s limit has already been reached, Roblox says the account cannot make further purchases under that limit for the rest of the month.

What if Roblox says you reached a purchasing limit?
Roblox’s platform purchasing limits are separate from a parent-set monthly spending cap. Roblox Support states: “It is not possible to lift the purchasing limits. They are in place to help enforce the safety and security for payments made on Roblox. Limits cannot be changed or altered by Customer Support.” Roblox Support: How do I exceed the purchasing limit?
For a purchase blocked by that specific Roblox limit, Roblox identifies gift-card redemption as an alternative way to make a new purchase. This does not mean a gift card clears every restriction: Roblox says redemptions are excluded from its monthly spending limits, but other account, parent, or platform rules may still matter. Use a gift card only with the parent or caretaker’s approval, not to get around household rules. Roblox Support

What if Roblox asks a parent to approve the action?
Some actions on a child’s account may require parent permission. A parent needs a linked account with parent privileges to manage the available controls. The exact controls and eligibility depend on age and region; Roblox’s parent-controls FAQ says parent privileges require the parent to be at least 18 and verify identity in most regions, so those conditions should not be assumed universal. If the message asks for approval, ask the parent or caretaker to review it from their linked account. Do not unlink accounts or change age details to bypass the permission request.

Does the device or console change the answer?
It can. Roblox says its monthly spending limits may not apply on certain console devices, and specifically says Roblox-set limits do not affect spending through Xbox. If you are buying through a console, check the console platform’s family or spending controls as well as Roblox’s settings. The applicable controls depend on the purchase channel. If none of those explanations fits
Read the complete error message before trying another payment method. A payment-method or processor failure is a different possibility, but the Roblox parental-controls guidance does not identify a declined card as the cause of a parental-control block. If the message does not mention a spending cap, purchasing limit, or parent approval, ask the parent or caretaker to review the account and use Roblox Support for the specific error. Avoid using another person’s payment method or trying to work around account restrictions.
