Why does the sign-in method matter?
ChatGPT associates an account with the authentication identity used at registration. Entering a password when the account was created with Google, Microsoft, or Apple can produce a wrong-authentication error, redirect you to another account, or leave the expected session unable to persist.

Use a private window as a diagnostic, not a permanent fix

A status-page event is more plausible when the logout begins at a specific time, affects multiple unrelated browsers or devices, and other people report the same refresh behavior.
