KRAFTON said on March 26, 2025, that it had decided to remove Denuvo from inZOI’s Early Access build after player feedback showed the anti-tamper measure did not match community expectations. The studio also apologized for not properly disclosing that Denuvo was present in the inZOI: Creative Studio demo.
Does inZOI still use Denuvo?
KRAFTON’s March 26, 2025 announcement said Denuvo would be removed from the Early Access build. That announcement establishes what the studio decided at that time; it does not confirm the Denuvo status of every later build. Steam lists March 27, 2025, as the Early Access release date. Why did KRAFTON decide to remove it?
KRAFTON said it had initially chosen Denuvo to protect inZOI against illegal distribution, with the aim of ensuring fairness for legitimate purchasers. The studio later said community feedback made clear that this approach did not align with what players wanted. Producer and Director Kjun stated: “To address the most important point: we have decided to remove Denuvo from the Early Access build of inZOI.” KRAFTON’s March 26, 2025 statement.
What did KRAFTON say about the demo disclosure?
The inZOI: Creative Studio demo had Denuvo because it branched from the main development build, according to KRAFTON. The studio acknowledged that it had not properly informed players about the anti-tamper software during the demo period. Kjun wrote: “Unfortunately, we failed to properly inform our players of this application during the demo period, and we sincerely apologize for that oversight.” KRAFTON’s statement.

What tradeoff did the studio describe?
KRAFTON said removing Denuvo increased the risk that the game could be cracked and illegally distributed. It also said the change could give players more freedom to configure the game and create new experiences. These are the studio’s stated considerations; its announcement did not attribute performance problems to Denuvo.
How did the decision relate to mod support?
KRAFTON connected the removal decision to its modding ambitions. In the March 26, 2025 announcement, it said the first stage of official mod support was planned for May and would let players use tools such as Maya and Blender to create custom content, with more support to follow. That was a plan announced at the time, not confirmation that every feature shipped or that the schedule remains current.
How did players respond?
Comments on the Steam discussion thread included praise for the reversal as well as concerns about trust and disclosure. They illustrate a range of reactions, not a representative poll: the announcement and discussion provide no statistic that measures how many players criticized Denuvo or supports a claim that all players agreed.
