If House Flipper 2 crashes on your PC, the usual causes are a machine below the published requirements, an outdated graphics driver or Windows install, a damaged game installation, or an external mod or trainer running alongside the game. Frozen District’s pinned Steam support guide points to these same areas. The eight steps below follow the order that guide suggests, and each one is a check rather than a guaranteed fix. Official material does not name a single cause that explains every crash, so change one variable at a time and test after each change.
Eight troubleshooting steps, in order
Start with the free, reversible checks. Work down the list only as far as you need to, and keep a note of which step you were on when the crash stopped or continued.
1. Compare your PC with the published requirements
Before trying anything more involved, check whether your hardware meets the minimum specifications listed on the Steam store listing. The listing at that link gives these figures:
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | 64-bit Windows 10 | Windows 11 |
| Processor | AMD Ryzen 5 (first generation) or Intel Core i5 (seventh generation) | AMD Ryzen 5 (third generation) or Intel Core i5 (tenth generation) |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Radeon RX 580 4GB or GeForce GTX 1060 6GB | Radeon RX 5700XT 8GB or GeForce RTX 2070 8GB |
| DirectX | 11 | 11 |
| Storage | 10 GB free | 14 GB |
The store link above uses the original House Flipper slug and app ID, so confirm that the requirements shown match the House Flipper 2 listing you bought from before relying on them. Specifications on store pages change over time. If your PC is clearly below the minimum, that is the most likely explanation, and the fix is hardware, not a settings tweak. If it meets the minimum, move on.

2. Update House Flipper 2 through Steam
Let Steam finish any pending update for the game before you run the other checks. Frozen District’s support article asks players to update through Steam before looking for local game files, so this also keeps your later results consistent.
3. Update your graphics driver and Windows
Install the latest graphics-card driver from your GPU maker, and install pending Windows updates. The developer’s guide lists both as a standard check. Restart the PC after installing, then launch the game and test again.

4. Verify the integrity of game files
This step asks Steam to compare the installed files with the published versions and repair any that are missing or damaged. In Steam, open Library, right-click House Flipper 2, choose Properties, select Local Files, and click Verify integrity of game files. Let the check finish, then launch the game. This step is reversible and does not touch your profile.
5. Disable or remove external mods and trainers
The developer’s guide specifically names WeMod and recommends disabling or removing external mods to see whether they are the cause. Turn off every mod, trainer, or overlay tool that injects into the game, restart, and play through the situation that crashed before. If the crashes stop, the mod is the variable. Re-enable one tool at a time afterward to confirm which one is responsible.

6. Try another installation drive or directory
The developer suggests trying a different drive or directory. Treat this as a diagnostic test: if the game runs stably from another location, the original location or the drive it was on is a strong suspect. It is not a reason to buy new storage on its own, and you do not need a new drive to run the test. Back up your profile first (see step 7) because moving or reinstalling the game can affect local data.
7. Back up your profile, then reinstall
If the earlier steps have not helped, reinstall the game. Before you do, the developer’s guidance is direct. Kiki, a developer representative, wrote in the pinned Steam support guide, last edited May 8, 2025:

“Don’t forget to back up your profile on your PC or in Steam Cloud!”
Make the backup, uninstall House Flipper 2 through Steam, and reinstall it. If the crash disappears on a clean install, you have a stronger clue that the previous installation was damaged. If it returns, keep the logs from step 8, since you will need them for support.

8. Collect logs and system information, then contact support
If the crash persists after a clean reinstall, gather the information that Frozen District’s support article asks for, then contact the developer.
- Open Steam and use its Help menu to find system information. Save or copy it so it is ready to send.
- Press Windows + R, type
%appdata%, and press Enter. This opens the Roaming folder. Go up one level to the AppData folder, then open LocalLow, Frozen District, and House Flipper 2. The full path is%USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalLowFrozen DistrictHouse Flipper 2. - Copy
Player.logandPlayer-prev.logfrom that folder. The support article says these files record information about game accidents, which makes them the most useful evidence for a crash. - Contact support. The FAQ, updated February 20, 2025, says you can report bugs in Steam discussions, use Quick Support, or submit a support request. Steam’s technical issue support page lists Frozen District as the support provider and gives the address [email protected].
When you write to support, include when the crash happens, the steps that reproduce it, your system information, and the two log files. Do not post your account details or other private information in public Steam discussions.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the official guidance does and does not establish
- The eight steps are checks, not a proven protocol. Frozen District’s guide presents them as things to try. None of the official sources says that following them fixes every crash.
- No single cause is documented. The guide also asks players to check requirements for crashes or endless loading, which means hardware, drivers, mods, and installation problems are all treated as possible causes.
- No crash statistics or comparison data are published. There is no independent rate showing how often each step resolves a crash. Community reports of what worked for one player should not be read as representative.
- Source dates matter. The support article was updated March 21, 2024, the FAQ on February 20, 2025, and the pinned guide on May 8, 2025. Confirm the current requirements on the store page and check the official support pages for any newer instructions.
Work through the steps in order, keep your profile backed up before any file or installation change, and send the logs if the crash survives a clean reinstall.
