Roblox is usually not withholding the code: the request is often tied to a different email or phone number, filtered by the provider, expired, or blocked by a broken login session. Follow the recovery checks in this order, and use Roblox Support if the account has no recovery method or may have been compromised.
What to do when Roblox does not send a password-reset code
Roblox usually is not sending the message because the request was made for the wrong recovery email or phone number, the message was filtered or delayed, the verification flow has expired, or the login page is malfunctioning. Buying a Roblox gift card or another Roblox-related item will not generate a reset code or restore access.

- Open the official Roblox login screen.
- Select Forgot Password or Username?
- On the page labeled Recover your Roblox Account, enter the exact email address associated with the account.
- Submit the request and wait several minutes before trying again.
The address must match the one stored on the Roblox account. Small differences can matter, including punctuation, an extra character, a missing character, or using a different address from the same person. If the account has several possible email addresses, try each address that may have been added to Roblox rather than repeatedly submitting the same incorrect one.

The email-reset message should contain instructions and a Reset Password button. It is different from a Roblox email 2-Step Verification code or a one-time login code.
2. Search every relevant email folder
After requesting the message, search the mailbox—not just the primary inbox—for Roblox mail. Check:
- Spam or Junk
- Promotions
- Social
- Archive and Trash
- Any custom folders, quarantine area, or company/school email filter
Search for Roblox, Reset Password, and [email protected]. If the message is being blocked, add [email protected] to the email provider’s contacts or safe-sender list. For an account email-verification message, Roblox identifies [email protected] as a sender that can be added instead. The correct sender depends on the type of message you are waiting for.

Do not assume that a missing message means the password-reset request worked. If the email address is not attached to the account, Roblox may not send a useful reset message to it.
3. Make sure you are troubleshooting the right Roblox message

An email 2-Step Verification code is not necessarily the same as a password-reset email. Follow the instructions for the screen you are actually seeing.
4. Try phone recovery if a phone number is attached
If the account has a verified phone number, open the recovery flow’s Phone tab. Select the correct country code, enter the number, and request the six-digit code. Depending on the country and the carrier, Roblox may deliver it through SMS or WhatsApp.
Phone recovery will not work if the number was never added to the account, if the country is not supported, or if the number and country code were entered incorrectly. If the code does not arrive, check both the phone’s messages and WhatsApp, and avoid repeatedly requesting codes in quick succession.
5. Resend the code or restart the verification attempt
If Roblox displays Resend Code, use it after checking the correct email address and filtered folders. If the screen offers Start Over, restart the flow rather than entering an old code into a new attempt.
An email 2-Step Verification code expires after 15 minutes. A code can also stop working if it was entered incorrectly for that account. Use the newest code, enter it carefully, and do not mix codes requested in different browser tabs or on different devices.
6. Fix a broken Roblox login or CAPTCHA page
If the recovery page, button, CAPTCHA, or login flow does not load correctly, try these steps:
- Close extra Roblox recovery tabs and open a fresh official login page.
- Clear the browser’s cache and cookies for Roblox, then retry.
- Temporarily disable browser extensions and content blockers, especially privacy, script-blocking, or ad-blocking add-ons.
- Try a current browser or the official Roblox app.
- Check that the computer, tablet, or phone has the correct date, time, and time zone. An inaccurate clock can interfere with verification.
- If CAPTCHA will not load, ensure the browser or network is not blocking the CAPTCHA services Roblox requires.
- Try a different trusted network, such as mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, if the current network filters scripts or messages.
Clear cookies only after noting any information you need to sign in again. Browser cleanup can repair a broken session, but it cannot make Roblox send a message to an email address that is not associated with the account.

7. Check whether Roblox is having a service problem
Check Roblox’s official status page when the problem occurs. A status page showing major systems as operational is useful, but it does not prove that a particular email provider, mobile carrier, account, browser, or country is working normally. Status information is a point-in-time snapshot, so check it again if the failure continues.

8. Know when automated recovery cannot work
If no email address or phone number was ever attached to the Roblox account, Roblox says its automated password-reset feature cannot reset the password. There is no legitimate code generator or workaround that bypasses this requirement. Contact Roblox Customer Support instead and explain the login problem in detail.
9. Contact Roblox Support if the account may be hacked
Use Roblox Customer Support if the email or phone number was changed, the account may have been stolen, recovery messages go to an address you do not recognize, or the normal recovery process fails.
For an ownership review, contact Support using the first email address ever added to the account when possible. If the account had a purchase, the billing email used for the first payment can also help. Roblox says this information assists its review but does not guarantee recovery. For certain compromised-account assistance, Roblox advises contacting Support within 30 days of the compromise.

Include the original email address, first billing email if relevant, approximate account history, error messages, and the troubleshooting steps already attempted. Never include your password, browser cookies, 2-Step Verification codes, backup codes, or any other secret credential. Roblox requires ownership verification before it can reset an account or change account information.

- Add and verify an email address and, where available, a phone number.
- Change the password to a long, unique password that is not used on another website.
- Enable 2-Step Verification.
- Review the available security options, which may include an authenticator app, email verification, security key, passkey, or backup codes.
- Save backup codes somewhere private and accessible offline. Do not share them with anyone.
- Remove suspicious browser extensions and run a full malware scan if you downloaded an unofficial Roblox file or believe the device was compromised.
A password manager can be an optional way to generate and store a unique Roblox password. A hardware security key can provide stronger, phishing-resistant sign-in protection when the account and device support it. Neither product delivers a missing reset code, and neither is required to recover an account.
Likewise, antivirus software or a malware scanner can help inspect a compromised device, but it does not repair Roblox’s email delivery system. Use it as part of post-compromise cleanup—not as a substitute for Roblox Support.
Scams to avoid
- Do not use “Roblox code generators,” free Robux offers, or unofficial recovery websites.
- Do not pay a person who claims they can unlock the account.
- Do not give anyone your password, browser cookies, 2-Step Verification code, or backup codes.
- Do not trust someone claiming to be Roblox staff who asks for those credentials. Roblox employees will not ask for them.
- Do not buy a Roblox gift card expecting it to trigger account recovery.
