If Ubisoft Connect is not working on your PS5, first check whether Ubisoft services are under maintenance, then confirm the console is online. If both look normal, Ubisoft also recommends considering a PS5 database rebuild in Safe Mode or unlinking and relinking your PlayStation and Ubisoft accounts. These are possible fixes, not guaranteed solutions.
First, identify what is failing
“Ubisoft Connect not working” can mean different things: you cannot sign in, a Ubisoft game will not connect, or a Connect feature such as Rewards is missing. The affected game, feature, and exact error matter because these problems do not necessarily have the same cause.
- Sign-in failure: You cannot authenticate your Ubisoft account on PlayStation.
- Game connection failure: A particular Ubisoft game cannot reach its online services.
- Missing feature: A Connect feature is unavailable in one game. Ubisoft says Rewards are game-dependent; a missing Rewards tab may mean that game does not support those rewards. See Ubisoft’s Rewards guidance.
Some Ubisoft games or features require an internet connection, and some require a permanent online connection. Ubisoft explains this in its terms; it does not establish that every game or feature has the same requirement.
Work through the checks in order
- Check Ubisoft service status. Ubisoft says ongoing maintenance or degradation may prevent PlayStation sign-in. Check the Live Feed Update at the top of Ubisoft Help for current planned or ongoing service conditions before changing console or account settings. A general support article cannot tell you whether there is an outage right now.
- Check the PS5’s internet connection. If the console is offline, address that first. If it is online but Ubisoft login or a game connection still fails, an active connection alone does not show that Ubisoft authentication is working. Follow Ubisoft’s connectivity troubleshooting, which includes a PlayStation 5 support path and notes that an ISP or shared connection speed can affect connectivity.
- Consider rebuilding the PS5 database only after backing up. Ubisoft lists rebuilding the database through Safe Mode as a possible step. Its guidance warns that some Safe Mode options can cause data loss, so back up your data before entering Safe Mode. This is not a guaranteed fix.
- Consider unlinking and relinking your accounts. Ubisoft says unlinking and relinking the PlayStation and Ubisoft accounts may help with a login issue. Check that you are working with the PlayStation account and Ubisoft account you intend to use, and follow Ubisoft’s account unlinking and relinking instructions. Relinking may help, but Ubisoft does not promise it will resolve every failure.
- Contact Ubisoft Help if the issue remains. Provide the exact error message and the affected game or feature so support can assess the specific problem. Ubisoft’s Help site is the current support entry point.
How to narrow down the likely cause
Use the symptoms to decide which checks deserve attention first; this is a practical way to organize Ubisoft’s troubleshooting steps, not a diagnostic test that identifies the cause automatically.

- The PS5 itself is offline: Start with the console’s internet connection and Ubisoft’s connectivity guidance.
- The PS5 is online but sign-in fails: Check service status, then consider whether the PlayStation account is linked to the intended Ubisoft account.
- Only one game or feature is affected: Identify the game and feature. A missing Rewards tab, for example, may reflect game support rather than a general Connect outage.
- You are considering Safe Mode: Treat a database rebuild as a later troubleshooting step and back up first, because Ubisoft warns that some Safe Mode options may cause data loss.
What the available guidance does not establish
Without the affected game, error message, account state, and current service status, there is no reliable way to name one cause for an individual PS5. Ubisoft’s PlayStation login guidance provides possible troubleshooting steps, but it does not promise that any single step will restore access. No outage rate or success percentage is established by the cited guidance.
