Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteIn a February 12, 2025 review, MobileSyrup’s Dean Daley recommended the Meta Quest 3S for its immersive games and entertainment, calling it “a stellar device.” The review reported a starting price of $399.99 CAD at the time. That is a historical figure, not a confirmed current offer; check local listings for today’s price.
What drove the recommendation
Daley’s strongest case for the Quest 3S was the feeling of being inside a game. His standout example was Batman: Arkham Shadow, whose first-person perspective and embodied actions made VR feel worthwhile to him. That is a reviewer’s account of playing the game, not an independent performance test.
The review also describes using the headset for entertainment: Netflix and Crunchyroll, plus Xbox Cloud Gaming with an Xbox controller. The appeal, then, is broader than a single game: the 3S can serve as a dedicated space for VR play, streaming, and cloud gaming, provided the experience suits your habits and setup.
What the Quest 3S offers on paper
Meta’s device comparison, updated September 18, 2026, lists the Quest 3S with an LCD display, Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, 8 GB of onboard memory, head and hand tracking, and color stereoscopic passthrough. The listed display and viewing specifications are:

Meta lists Touch Plus controllers as included. Daley also says the headset supports hand input and reports connecting an Xbox controller for cloud gaming. For prescription eyewear, he names Zenni Optical as a source for prescription lenses and says a glasses spacer is included.
What the review says about comfort, battery and travel
Daley gives the headset’s weight as 514 g and says he could wear it for sessions of roughly three hours. He reports battery life of about two to three hours in his own use. Meta’s separate estimate is about 2.5 hours; the reviewer’s observation and manufacturer estimate are different kinds of evidence, not a shared controlled measurement.

The same review flags two practical drawbacks: the headset felt awkward to travel with, and useful operation depended substantially on Wi-Fi. Daley also had trouble downloading offline YouTube videos. If you want a headset for long sessions away from a reliable connection, those points may matter more than its game library.
Quest 3S versus Quest 3
Meta lists the Quest 3S and Quest 3 with the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset and 8 GB of memory, but the Quest 3 has higher per-eye resolution, a wider horizontal field of view, a depth sensor in its passthrough specification, and continuous rather than preset IPD adjustment.

How to read the $399 price
MobileSyrup reported a $399.99 CAD starting price in February 2025. Separately, Meta’s October 15, 2024 developer post listed U.S. launch-era prices of $299.99 USD for the 128GB version and $399.99 USD for 256GB. These figures refer to different dates, markets, and pricing contexts; neither establishes what the headset costs now.

Who is most likely to value it
The review’s recommendation makes the strongest case for someone interested in VR games such as Batman: Arkham Shadow, or who wants to mix immersive gaming with streaming and cloud gaming. A buyer who prioritizes resolution, a wider field of view, a depth sensor, or continuous IPD adjustment should compare the Quest 3’s specifications directly. Comfort, fit, connection needs, and current local pricing are personal decision points that the review cannot settle for every buyer.
