Its July 25, 2024 announcement moved the planned launch from September 5 to November 20. SEGA’s Japanese notice the following day listed November 21 as the revised date; the game later launched in Japan on that date.
Why was S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 delayed?
GSC said the extra time would let the team fix more bugs before release. In its July 25 announcement, the developer described them as “unexpected anomalies,” adding: “These two additional months will give us the chance to fix more "unexpected anomalies" (or simply "bugs", as you call them).” GSC Game World’s announcement did not provide a more specific breakdown of the issues.

What were the original and revised release dates?
The planned date was September 5, 2024. GSC’s announcement said the game would instead arrive November 20, 2024. SEGA’s Japanese notice, published July 26, reported November 21 as the new date. The official notices therefore differ by one day; they do not establish a separate delay.
SEGA’s July 26 notice also said GSC had announced a Developer Deep Dive video for August 12, 2024.
