Shugo Festival is locked for four separate reasons in Aion 2: your character has not reached level 10, you have not completed the required faction quest, you are outside the hourly three-minute gathering window, or the scheduled match was canceled because too few players joined. Reward Keys are not an entry requirement. To unlock the feature, reach level 10, finish Visions in Smoke as Elyos or Urgent Pursuit as Asmodian, then use Main Menu → Content → Shugo Festival. At the top of an hour, watch for the countdown and the Shugo icon beside the mini-map. Enter during that short window; if the event cancels, wait for the next hourly rotation.
What does “Shugo Festival locked” mean in Aion 2?
The lock message does not identify one universal problem. It can indicate a permanent progression gate, a temporary schedule gate, a failed matchmaking window, or confusion about reward currency. Checking those in order is faster than repeatedly reopening the menu.

This distinction matters because waiting for the next hour cannot fix an unfinished unlock quest, while completing the quest cannot make an event appear outside its gathering window.
How do I unlock Shugo Festival?
Unlocking requires both a character level and a faction-specific quest. Either requirement on its own is insufficient.

- Finish the quest for your faction. Elyos characters must complete Visions in Smoke. Asmodian characters must complete Urgent Pursuit.
- Open the content menu. From the main interface, choose Main Menu → Content → Shugo Festival.
- Check the next gathering window. The feature may remain unavailable until the next top-of-the-hour event even after the menu unlocks.

If the menu entry is still absent after both conditions are met, change zones or relog once, then check again at the next hourly window. Those steps refresh the client state; they do not bypass the level, quest, or schedule rules.
When can I enter a Shugo Festival game?
Entry is offered during a three-minute gathering countdown at the top of each hour, not continuously. When the window opens, a Shugo icon appears beside the mini-map and the event can be joined from the content interface.
How the hourly window works
- The event rotates hourly.
- The gathering period lasts three minutes.
- The countdown is displayed at the top of the hour.
- The Shugo icon beside the mini-map is the practical sign that entry is open.
Because the window is so short, opening the menu at 12:01 or 12:04 can produce a lock-looking state even though your character is fully eligible. Treat the live countdown and icon as authoritative rather than an old timetable posted outside the game.
A reliable way to catch the event
- Be logged in a few minutes before the next full hour.
- Keep the mini-map visible and watch for the Shugo icon.
- As soon as the gathering countdown begins, open Main Menu → Content → Shugo Festival.
- Join before the three-minute period expires.
- If no match forms or the event is canceled, remain ready for the following hourly rotation.
Current guides agree on the hourly, three-minute structure, but a static schedule can become stale after a patch. Use the in-game countdown instead of assuming a particular game will run at a permanently fixed time.
Why is Shugo Festival still locked after level 10?
Level 10 only satisfies one part of the progression gate. Check the quest, the clock, and the match state before treating the feature as bugged.
1. The faction quest is incomplete
Elyos players need Visions in Smoke; Asmodians need Urgent Pursuit. Verify the quest is fully turned in, not merely accepted or partially completed. If you changed characters, repeat the check on that character because the unlock is a character-progression condition.

2. You are checking outside the gathering period
After unlocking, the content is not an always-open queue. Wait for the top-of-the-hour countdown and look for the icon next to the mini-map. A locked-looking menu between windows is expected behavior.
3. The scheduled match did not reach participation
A game can be canceled when too few players join. That cancellation is different from an account or character lock: the feature may have been available, but the particular round could not start. Try the next hourly rotation rather than repeating the same failed queue.
4. The client is showing an old state
Once the level and quest are complete, changing zones or relogging can clear a stale interface state. Perform that refresh before filing a support report, then test during a live gathering window.
5. You are checking the reward state instead of the entry state
Reward Keys and the minimum score affect what you can claim after a game. They do not determine whether the Shugo Festival menu unlocks or whether you can enter for practice.

No. Reward Keys are used when claiming post-game rewards, not when entering a Shugo Festival activity. A player with no keys can still participate and practice, but cannot claim the Monster Cube/card reward that requires a key.
What Reward Keys actually control
- Entry: no key is required.
- Practice: no key is required.
- Reward claim: a key is required for the applicable post-game reward.
- Storage: keys are shared across characters on the same server.
The current key allowance is described as three Reward Keys per day. The normal bank can hold up to 12, while membership raises the stated cap to 21. Those figures describe how many keys can be banked; they do not convert the event into a continuously available activity.

If you are deciding whether to join an inconvenient hourly round, do not skip it solely because your key balance is zero. You can still learn the controls and contribute to the match; the limitation is the later reward claim.

The event can be called off when too few participants join the scheduled round. Cancellation does not undo your level-and-quest unlock, and it does not mean a Reward Key is missing.

There is also a minimum basic score requirement before rewards are granted. The available access guidance confirms that a score threshold exists but does not establish a single numeric threshold. Therefore, do not assume that merely entering guarantees a reward claim; play for the required basic score and check the result screen for your eligibility.
Which Shugo Festival mini-games are currently documented?
The roster is version-sensitive. One current guide lists nine recurring games, while another page is labeled “All 11 Minigames.” That disagreement is a reason to trust the live in-game list and countdown rather than treating an older web list as permanent.

The current access references identify the game names and the general hourly event structure, but they do not provide one verified table of player-count ranges, time limits, or control schemes for every title. Do not rely on an old guide that assigns permanent timers or team sizes to each mini-game.
