Rocksteady took Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League offline for server maintenance during its January 2024 early access period after some players logged in for the first time to find their accounts showing full story completion. The studio said it expected the maintenance to last several hours, but that was an estimate—not a confirmed outage duration.
What happened during early access?
On January 29, 2024, Rocksteady said some players’ first logins were showing full story completion. The studio announced server maintenance to address the progression issue and said the game would be unavailable during that work. GameSpot reported the statement, including Rocksteady’s description of the affected accounts as having “full story completion.” GameSpot’s January 29 report reproduces the developer’s statement; it is not the original social post.

How long did Rocksteady say the outage would last?
Rocksteady estimated that maintenance would take several hours and said it would provide an update when it had more information. That was the studio’s forecast at the time, not a verified measure of how long the servers remained unavailable. The cited reporting does not establish the restoration time or how many players were affected.
Why was the game in early access?
The interruption happened while Deluxe Edition owners were playing ahead of the standard-edition launch. Warner Bros. Games announced that the Deluxe Edition included early access and set the worldwide standard-edition release for February 2, 2024. Its launch announcement listed a $99.99 suggested retail price for the Deluxe Edition; that is a historical launch-era price, not a current price or availability claim. Contemporaneous coverage described the early-access period as 72 hours, also a historical offer. Warner Bros. Games’ launch announcement

Can you play the campaign offline now?
The game’s current official FAQ says offline mode supports the main campaign and seasonal story content without a server connection. Online co-op still requires an internet connection, and online and social features are unavailable in offline mode. This offline option is a later feature and was not available as a workaround during the January 2024 server-maintenance incident. Check the official FAQ and offline-mode FAQ for the current feature details.
