If Wild Assault crashes on PC or will not launch, work through these eight checks, starting with system compatibility and basic Steam troubleshooting. The available official guidance does not establish one universal cause or guarantee a fix; a startup failure and a crash after entering a match may have different causes.
Before you start: note when the crash happens
Record whether the game fails before its main menu, shows an error such as an Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) message, or closes during a match. That detail will help you choose the relevant checks and describe the problem if you contact support.
Eight checks for Wild Assault crashes on PC
1. Compare your PC with the Steam requirements
Steam lists Windows 10, DirectX 12, 8 GB of RAM, a GTX 1060 / RX 580 / Intel Arc A380-class graphics card, and 30 GB of available storage as the minimum configuration. Its recommended specification calls for 16 GB of RAM, a stronger graphics-card tier, and an SSD. Check the current Wild Assault Steam listing for the complete recommended specification.
Meeting the minimum is not a guarantee that the game will run without crashes. If your drive does not meet the listed SSD requirement, an SSD may address that requirement, but it is not a proven crash fix. Likewise, consider a graphics-card change only if your current GPU falls short of the published requirements.

2. Install available Windows updates
Steam’s general guidance for launch problems includes updating Windows. The developer’s technical FAQ also recommends Windows updates for some DirectX 12 and anti-cheat error paths. Install available updates, restart the PC, and try the game again. These are general troubleshooting recommendations, not a guarantee for Wild Assault crashes.
3. Update your graphics driver
Steam recommends checking for driver updates, and Combat Cat Studio’s technical FAQ advises updating the GPU driver. That FAQ, posted June 6, 2024, is specifically about the game’s demo; it recommends that Nvidia users select a clean installation when installing a driver. Treat that as dated guidance rather than a claim about every current driver installer.

4. Verify Wild Assault’s files in Steam
Damaged or incomplete files can be worth checking, particularly if the game reports a version or file error. Steam and the developer FAQ both recommend verifying game files.
- Open your Steam Library.
- Right-click Wild Assault and choose Properties.
- Open Installed Files and select Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for Steam to finish, then try launching the game again.
5. Close non-essential background software
Steam recommends disabling non-essential software when diagnosing launch problems. Close nonessential apps or overlays one at a time, then test the game. Changing one thing at a time makes it easier to tell whether a particular app affects the crash. Steam’s guidance does not identify a specific app as the cause.

6. Confirm DirectX 12 support
The Steam listing specifies DirectX 12, and Combat Cat Studio’s June 6, 2024 FAQ says the demo supports DX12 only and advises checking whether the GPU supports it. If your graphics hardware cannot support DX12, the FAQ’s other steps are unlikely to resolve that compatibility issue. Because the FAQ concerns the demo and dates from 2024, use the current Steam requirements rather than treating its older GPU examples as a complete compatibility list.
7. Repair Easy Anti-Cheat only if its error appears
If the crash or launch failure specifically points to EAC, the developer’s June 2024 demo FAQ describes repairing the bundled service. Locate EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe in the game’s installation files, run it, and choose Repair Service if that option is available. The FAQ also outlines reinstalling the service and verifying the game files. These steps are conditional on an EAC-related problem, and the FAQ may not reflect every detail of the current client.

8. Check security interference, then collect logs if it still fails
For certain errors, the developer FAQ suggests checking whether antivirus or firewall software is interfering and offers whitelisting the game folder as an option. If you test whether security software is involved, do not leave antivirus or firewall protection disabled; restore protection and use a targeted exception only if appropriate for your setup.
If the crash continues, gather a clear description of what happened, screenshots of any error, and the game log from %LOCALAPPDATA%IronDesertSavedLogs. Combat Cat Studio’s FAQ lists Discord and email as support routes; Steam currently lists the official support email as [email protected]. The FAQ also says the demo offered F10 bug reporting through Discord, but that June 2024 route is not confirmed as unchanged for the current client.

Official guidance and its limits
The game-specific technical FAQ was posted by Combat Cat Studio on June 6, 2024, and explicitly covers the demo. It is useful for its DX12, driver, file-verification, EAC, security, and log-file advice, but it may not describe the current client in every detail. Steam’s general launch troubleshooting advice covers Windows and driver updates, file verification, non-essential software, and checking system requirements; those steps are platform-level suggestions, not Wild Assault-specific guarantees.
