Which platforms can play Madden NFL 26 together?
EA lists PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S as the platforms supported for cross-play in Madden NFL 26. A game version being available on a platform does not by itself mean that platform can cross-play: EA’s buy page lists a Nintendo Switch 2 store route, but its cross-play FAQ does not include Switch 2. Which modes support cross-play?
EA names five cross-play modes:
- Online Head-to-Head
- Franchise
- Madden Ultimate Team (MUT)
- Superstar KO
- Superstar Showdown
Cross-play support is mode-specific; it does not mean every game feature, progression system, or marketplace is shared between platforms.

EA says cross-play can be enabled for a new or existing cloud Franchise league. However, the FAQ labels the feature a live beta and strongly recommends starting a new Franchise file because EA may temporarily disable it. Availability can also be affected by maintenance, server releases, title updates, downtime, or matchmaking updates.

How do you enable cross-play?
EA says cross-play is on by default the first time you start Madden NFL 26 on PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S. If you need to check or change it, the settings location depends on your platform:
- Xbox Series X|S: Manage cross-play in the console’s system settings.
- PS5 and PC: Manage cross-play in Madden NFL 26’s game settings.
Both players should check that cross-play is enabled on their respective platforms before troubleshooting invites or matchmaking.

How do you find and invite a friend on another platform?
- Open EA Connect in Madden NFL 26.
- Go to Player Search.
- Search using your friend’s EA Identification number or platform identifier. EA gives Xbox Series X|S gamertag and PSN ID as examples of platform identifiers.
- Use EA Connect to connect with the friend, then invite them to a cross-play-supported mode.
What carries across platforms—and what does not?
Some features are shared, but cross-play does not merge every platform’s economy or data:

- Superstar: Avatar progression and gear purchases are shared across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
- MUT Auction House: The Auction House is not shared across platforms.
- Leaderboards: EA says cross-play leaderboards in supported modes are global for players who opt in.
What to check if cross-play is not working
- Confirm both players are using PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S; EA does not list Nintendo Switch 2 as cross-play-supported.
- Check that cross-play is enabled on each platform, using the appropriate console or in-game settings.
- Make sure you are trying to play a mode EA lists as cross-play-supported.
- Search for the friend in EA Connect using the EA Identification number or correct platform identifier.
- Consider service interruptions or updates: EA warns that maintenance, server releases, title updates, downtime, and matchmaking updates can affect availability.
Does Madden NFL 27 have the same cross-play support?
Not necessarily. EA announced Madden NFL 27’s launch on August 13, 2026, making Madden NFL 26 the previous annual release. The platform and mode details above are for Madden NFL 26 only; do not assume they carry over to Madden NFL 27 without checking that game’s own documentation. EA’s Madden NFL 27 launch announcement confirms the newer release.
