Is Shadow of the Road coming to Xbox?
There is no confirmed Xbox-console release at the time of the latest reports. Windows Central’s October 9, 2026 coverage says Owlcat moved the PC launch from November 12, 2026 to March 10, 2027 and notes that there had been no Xbox announcement.
That wording matters. “No announcement” describes the information available now; it does not mean Owlcat or Another Angle Games have declared that an Xbox port will never exist. Publishers often announce platforms at different stages, and a PC launch can precede any decision or announcement about consoles. Unless the developers publish a specific Xbox listing or port announcement, an Xbox date should not be treated as official.
Why the answer can change
The March 10, 2027 date is a current schedule, not a guarantee that no further delay will occur. Console plans can also be revealed later, changed, or canceled. For an accurate purchasing decision, check the live Steam listing and official Owlcat or Another Angle Games announcements close to release rather than relying on an old trailer, retailer page, or social-media rumor.

Steam lists full controller support and specifically mentions Xbox controllers. This tells PC players that a compatible Xbox-style gamepad can be used when playing the Windows version. It does not indicate that the game is available through the Xbox store or runs natively on an Xbox console.

These are separate platform facts:
- Xbox controller support: an input option for the PC edition.
- Xbox console availability: a separate release that would normally have its own Xbox store listing, console system requirements, and platform announcement.
A player who already owns an Xbox controller may be able to use it with the Steam version, subject to the computer’s connection and compatibility settings. A controller purchase is optional; it is not evidence of, or a requirement for, an Xbox-console edition.

When will the PC version release?
Steam currently lists March 10, 2027 for the Windows PC release. Earlier coverage had named November 12, 2026, but Owlcat’s schedule changed. Windows Central reported the October 9, 2026 move to the March date, and the current Steam listing supersedes the earlier date.
Because the date has already moved once, treat March 10 as the latest listed target rather than an irrevocable promise. A delay would not by itself indicate that a console edition is being prepared; it would only change the PC schedule unless the publisher separately announces platform plans.

- An Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo store page with the game’s title.
- A named console platform in an official Owlcat Games or Another Angle Games announcement.
- A release window or date specifically attached to that console edition.
- Console-specific details such as performance targets, achievement or trophy support, or save compatibility.
- A revised official FAQ, press release, or product page that clearly separates PC and console versions.
Until those details appear, headlines that say “coming to Xbox” may be interpreting controller compatibility, using an unverified retailer entry, or repeating speculation.

Could a console port still happen?
