The base price in the US storefronts is $29.99 as of October 2026. Xbox Game Pass can stream the game, but only after you buy it. Discounts appear from time to time, and a discount is not the same as a free copy.
What you pay for the game
- Xbox (US store): the listing shows $29.99 and identifies Monomi Park as both developer and publisher. A temporary discounted price appeared in search results, but the discounted amount was not captured.
- Steam (US store): the base price is $29.99. A limited-time sale price of $17.99 appeared when the page was indexed. The sale’s start and end dates were not recorded, so treat $17.99 as a past snapshot rather than a current offer.
Both storefronts list a September 23, 2025 release date. Steam also lists September 22, 2022 as the Early Access release date.

Game Pass cloud play requires a purchase
The Xbox store listing says cloud play is available with Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate, and adds the condition “Game purchase required.” Game Pass lets you stream a game you already own on a supported device. It does not replace the purchase. The table below compares the two routes.
| Access route | Do you own the game? | Subscription needed? | Cost basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buy on Xbox or Steam | Yes | No | US base price $29.99; promotions vary by region and date |
| Stream through Game Pass cloud play | Only after you buy the game | Yes: Essential, Premium, or Ultimate | Game purchase plus a qualifying Game Pass plan |
Why some older articles say Game Pass includes it
Xbox Wire’s September 29, 2022 article described the Game Preview launch as available with Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta. That described the Early Access launch at the time. Current store wording governs present access, so treat the 2022 article as historical context.
