Witchbrook is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on January 28, 2027. Until then, Wylde Flowers is the closest playable match for its blend of witchcraft, town life, relationships, and a cozy farm routine; Little Witch in the Woods is the better fit if you want to follow a young apprentice learning magic.

What is Witchbrook, and what makes it different?
Witchbrook is a witch-college life simulation and social RPG set in the seaside town of Mossport. Its central fantasy is not fighting through a combat campaign: you attend classes, build skills, make a home, earn money through witchcraft, and become part of a community.
Official Steam copy describes a study loop that includes Alchemy, Potions, Astrology, Rituals, Demon Hunting, and Tarot. Classes and assignments lead to merits and exams, with spells and progress toward graduation as rewards. Outside class, students can craft and deliver goods requested by townsfolk, sell at the Sunday market, forage, and renovate a woodland cottage and garden. The Switch eShop feature list also highlights clothing customisation, datable characters, seasonal events, and exploration around Mossport’s beaches, trails, and woods.

The town is designed to feel active outside the player’s schedule: residents follow routines, and seasonal events include Moss Stock at Parasol Sands. Thorn Woods is a more dangerous area gated to higher-ranked witches, so exploration opens out as the character advances. The Steam tagline describes it as a “spellbinding witch life-sim for up to 4-players,” and Steam and the eShop feature list specify up to four players in online co-op.
Chucklefish announced the date in its October 28, 2026 Steam news: “We’re incredibly excited to announce that Witchbrook will be launching on January 28th, 2027 across PC & consoles!” The game was first teased in 2016 and officially named in 2018 — KeenGamer, 2026 — and it has been more than eight years since its original announcement — DualShockers, 2026. It was previously expected in winter 2025; Nintendo Life reported in October 2025 that the studio wanted extra time to “ensure the world feels rich, immersive, and alive.”
Which game is closest to Witchbrook on Switch?
Wylde Flowers is the closest overall substitute if you want magic to be part of an ongoing farm-and-town life sim. It has a rural home, a witch’s coven, potions, broom travel, relationships, and a fully voiced story—though its setting is not a college campus and its main routine is farming rather than attending classes.
Wylde Flowers: the best starting point for the full blend
You play Tara on a rural island farm. By night, she joins a coven, learns to fly a broom, brews potions, controls weather and seasons, and can even transform into a cat. That day-and-night split brings together ordinary community life and practical magic more closely than any other Switch pick here.
Nintendo UK lists the Switch version as download software, released September 20, 2022, with a 3.4 GB download size and PEGI 3 rating. Choose Moonlight Peaks if you want a supernatural farm RPG with a spookier setting and a broad social cast. You play a vampire settling a homestead in a town of werewolves, witches, and mermaids; grow magical crops by night, learn spellcasting and potion-making, decorate your gothic home, and return to your coffin before sunrise.
How To Video Game lists the game on PC, Switch, Switch 2, and Android, with PS5 scheduled for November 17, 2026; it reports no Xbox version announced. How To Video Game describes two dozen romanceable characters, and ScreenRant notes that Death is among them. For a current-player caveat, Update 1.3.9 on October 6, 2026 restored some sell prices after player pushback. This is a better fit than Witchbrook for someone who wants a spooky homestead and a larger romance roster, but it swaps the student-life premise for vampire life.

Stardew Valley: the structural comparison, not a witch game
Stardew Valley is useful as a point of reference if the appeal of Witchbrook is the farm, townspeople, seasonal calendar, and gradual social progression. It has a wizard and the Spirit’s Eve festival on Fall 27, but it is not a witch RPG. Chucklefish previously published it on consoles, and DualShockers uses it as a primary comparison for Witchbrook’s mix of farming and community life.
Which Switch games focus on learning witchcraft?

In Little Witch in the Woods, you play Ellie, an apprentice living in the forest with a talking hat. You gather ingredients, brew potions for villagers, fly a broom, fill an encyclopedia, and befriend cats. Its low-combat, Ghibli-adjacent tone makes it the closest match for the “young witch learning the ropes” side of Witchbrook, without the classes, campus, or romance systems described for Witchbrook.

Ritual of Raven makes you an apprentice to a witch and turns tending a magical garden into a puzzle-driven ritual system. Instead of doing all the farming yourself, you enchant 22 Arcana Constructs — Nintendo UK, 2025 listing — to grow herbs, work with moon phases, and fill a Book of Shadows alongside a raven familiar.
The Switch download launched August 7, 2025. Nintendo UK lists it as a 589 MB game rated PEGI 3, in the Puzzle, Adventure, and RPG categories. Witchy Life Story: training stakes in a short format
Witchy Life Story is a compact choice if you want a complete witch-in-training tale instead of a large life sim. You spend two weeks in the village of Flora trying to save your training and its harvest festival, with gardening, brewing, tarot, and three romance options. Its protagonist is deliberately messy, and its tone is beginner-friendly and Ghibli-leaning.
Nintendo UK lists the Switch download as released October 19, 2023, in English, with a 1.2 GB size and PEGI 12 rating for sexual innuendo. Its short, bounded timeline makes it more suitable for a few sessions than for someone seeking dozens of hours of open-ended progression.

Wytchwood emphasizes gathering and spellcraft; Magical Delicacy gives you a shop and exploration; and Potion Craft narrows the focus to brewing for customers. These are the best choices when you want Witchbrook’s workaday magic more than its campus, farm, or relationship loops.

In Wytchwood, you are an old witch in a gothic fairy-tale countryside. Magical Delicacy casts you as Flora, a young witch who opens a shop selling meals and potions in the cliffside harbor town of Grat. Pick it if you like the idea of gathering and preparing goods for a witch business, with platforming between the shop and the wider town.
Nintendo UK lists the Switch download as released August 15, 2024, rated PEGI 3, and sized at 1.3 GB. The listing describes it as a wholesome cooking game; PeaPod frames its appeal as the combination of witchcraft, cooking, and platforming.
Potion Craft: brewing without a life-sim world
Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator focuses on making potions by hand on an alchemy map and serving customers. It lets you play as an artisan or lean into an “occult dark master” role, but offers almost none of the social-RPG overworld that defines Witchbrook. Garden Witch Life begins with a city witch starting over on a tiny island after losing her job. You restore a magical garden, cook in a cauldron, befriend villagers, decorate a treehouse, and care for creatures. It has a cozy home-and-community premise, but less academy structure and less RPG story than Witchbrook or Wylde Flowers.

Spirittea is a rural-life management game about seeing forgotten spirits and running a bathhouse for them. How To Video Game describes it as Spirited Away-adjacent and lists it for PC, Xbox, and Switch. It is not a witch RPG, but its small-town supernatural community can appeal if your favorite part of Witchbrook is the sense that magic is woven into everyday local life.
Spiritfarer: gentle supernatural management
Spiritfarer is a cozy management game about ferrying spirits, not a witch or romance sim. Thunder Lotus describes it as “a cozy management game about dying.” How To Video Game calls it its top cozy spooky game; more than a million players have taken the voyage — Thunder Lotus via How To Video Game, 2026. It also supports a local second player as Daffodil the cat. Choose it for a grief-tender, reflective story rather than witchcraft systems.
The Witch’s Bakery: a new witch-themed narrative game
The Witch’s Bakery launched on Steam, Switch, and Switch 2 on October 14, 2026. It is a witch-bakery narrative adventure, not a long RPG. Gaming Route reported that 96% of 148 Steam reviews were Very Positive at its 2026 check; that figure is a Steam review snapshot, not a Switch eShop rating, and can change as reviews are added.

Its combat-heavy approach is a better match for players who want to zap enemies than for those seeking Witchbrook’s calm town routine. Songs of Glimmerwick is a witch-academy RPG with musical spellcasting, but its Steam launch was September 30, 2026 and a Switch version was not confirmed in the sources available for this guide.
Other upcoming supernatural farming games are not current Switch substitutes either. How To Video Game lists Grave Seasons for March 9, 2027. Gaming Route lists a Switch 2 version of Coral Island for winter 2026, while How To Video Game says Coral Island currently has no Switch version. Haunted Chocolatier has no release date in How To Video Game’s listing. Fields of Mistria reached version 1.0 on August 5, 2026, but a Switch version was not confirmed in the sources reviewed here.
