User-shared photos first showed bottles with WoW-themed labels; later, Blizzard Support listed a help article about a World of Warcraft and Mountain Dew/Doritos collaboration. The available information does not establish current dates, rewards, redemption terms, or product availability.
How the Mountain Dew rumor started
On October 13, 2024, Wowhead’s Anshlun reported user-shared photographs of Mountain Dew bottles carrying World of Warcraft promotional labels. At publication, Anshlun wrote: “There have been no official announcements or confirmation about this promotion.” That described the status at the time; it is not the last word on whether a collaboration existed.
The reported labels appeared on Mountain Dew Game Fuel flavors. Wowhead identified two pairings in the photos:
| Reported flavor | Characters shown on the label |
|---|---|
| Citrus Blackberry | Xal’atath and Alleria |
| Citrus Cherry | The Lich King and Thrall |
These are details reported from user-shared images, not a complete official product or campaign announcement. Wowhead’s October 2024 report documents the rumor and the pictured flavor-label pairings.

What Blizzard Support later confirmed
Blizzard Support later listed an article titled “Can’t Claim Mountain Dew Promotion Code,” describing it as information about the “World of Warcraft and Mountain Dew/Doritos collaboration.” That listing supports that a collaboration existed, beyond the initial rumor. However, the accessible support-page information does not provide the campaign’s dates, eligibility rules, redemption instructions, or full reward list. Blizzard Support’s promotion-code article is the official reference to check for any available claim guidance.
Are the promotion and rewards available now?
Current campaign status is not established by the available official information. The support listing does not show whether codes can still be redeemed, which products qualify, or what rewards were offered. It also does not verify current store stock. Treat the flavors and labels above as historical tie-in details, not as evidence that the products or a claim window remain available.

A November 5, 2024 WoW forum thread asked for official promotion information, including whether rewards involved mounts or an expansion and where products could be found. Those posts are community discussion, not official terms, so they cannot establish what the campaign offered or who could participate. The forum conversation is useful context for the questions players had, but not a source for current availability or eligibility.

What to check before buying or claiming a code
- Look for current official campaign terms or an active Blizzard Support claim page; the historical support listing alone does not prove that redemption remains open.
- Confirm that a product listing explicitly matches the campaign and names the relevant region and dates before buying it for a code. A product label or old photograph is not proof of eligibility.
- Use the official terms to verify the code process and reward details. The available material does not substantiate claims about mounts, expansion access, or other specific rewards.
