World of Warships: Legends is available as a free-to-download mobile game on iOS and Android. It is the mobile version of Wargaming’s console-focused Legends ecosystem—not the separate World of Warships Blitz title. Linked players can synchronize progression between mobile and console, but purchases made through Apple, Google Play, PlayStation, or Xbox may remain restricted to the storefront that processed them.

Check that the developer is listed as WARGAMING Group Limited. Avoid similarly named apps and unofficial APK mirrors, which can cause security, update, compatibility, or account problems.

It is not World of Warships Blitz
The mobile app retains the World of Warships: Legends identity and connects to the console-oriented Legends ecosystem. It is separate from World of Warships Blitz, another mobile naval game in the wider franchise.
The game is a real-time online PvP title built around historical warships, multiplayer battles, missions, and progression. Its store descriptions advertise destroyers, cruisers, battleships, and aircraft carriers, as well as more than 400 ships and 10 nations.

Current device requirements
iPhone and iPad
The current U.S. App Store listing requires:
- iOS 16 or later
- An A12 Bionic chip or newer
That includes the iPhone XR and iPhone XS generation, plus newer compatible iPhones and iPads, but the store ultimately determines compatibility for a specific device and region. The listing shows an app size of approximately 1.5 GB; the installed footprint may be larger after additional game assets are downloaded.
Older articles may mention iOS 14. Those launch-era requirements should not be treated as current.
Android phones and tablets
Google Play lists the following requirements or recommendations:

Android compatibility is more fragmented than iOS compatibility. Meeting one specification does not guarantee installation or good performance because chipsets, graphics drivers, Android versions, manufacturers, and regional store policies can differ. Storage requirements may also exceed the initial store-listed download size.

- Install and launch the mobile game.
- Sign in with the account identity you intend to connect: Apple on iOS, Google on Android, or Facebook where supported.
- Complete the mobile tutorial.
- Check that your expected console progression appears.
Use the same account identity associated with the Legends account you want to connect. Do not build substantial progress or make purchases on a new profile before confirming that you are using the correct account. If the wrong account is linked or your ships and progression do not appear, stop progressing on that profile and contact Wargaming support.
What transfers between mobile and console?
For linked accounts, Wargaming says general progression can synchronize between mobile and console. Qualifying items obtained outside platform-specific stores can also be used across linked platforms.

The practical distinction is simple: your linked account progress can follow you, but the storefront used for a purchase can determine where that purchase is usable.
What does not transfer freely?
Wargaming documents restrictions for purchases processed by individual platforms:
- PlayStation Store purchases remain usable on PlayStation.
- Xbox Store purchases remain usable on Xbox.
- Apple App Store purchases are restricted to iOS devices.
- Google Play purchases are restricted to Android devices using Google Play.
Do not assume that every premium-currency purchase, bundle, promotion, or paid entitlement will appear everywhere. Check the platform restriction before buying, especially if you plan to move between a console and a phone.

Controls and mobile play
The mobile listings advertise touch controls and controller or gamepad support. The iOS listing specifically mentions PlayStation, Xbox, and MFi-compatible controllers, while Google Play lists gamepad support.
A controller may be more comfortable for players accustomed to console controls, particularly for aiming and camera movement. That does not guarantee identical ergonomics, performance, or control behavior across every phone, tablet, operating system, and controller.
This is an online multiplayer game, not an offline naval title. A stable connection is needed for matchmaking and battles. Weak cellular coverage can introduce latency or disconnections, and the available store information does not establish universal battery-life, heat, frame-rate, or data-use results.
Free to download, with in-app purchases
World of Warships: Legends is free to download and play, but both mobile listings disclose in-app purchases. The iOS listing also discloses loot boxes.

These are U.S. App Store prices observed on those dates, not universal or permanent prices. Regional currency, taxes, bundles, promotions, and store pricing can change. Because mobile purchases may be platform-restricted, confirm which device you will use before spending money.

- Confirm your operating system, hardware, RAM, GPU, Vulkan support, and available storage.
- Install over Wi-Fi and allow for additional downloaded assets.
- Sign in with the account you intend to connect to Legends.
- Complete the tutorial.
- Confirm that ships, Commanders, currencies, and progression appear as expected.
- Check purchase restrictions before buying doubloons or bundles.
Common problems
The app is unavailable
Store availability can vary by territory. Check the official listing for your region and do not treat an unavailable listing as a reason to install an unofficial APK.
Android says the device is incompatible
Possible causes include an unsupported chipset or GPU, insufficient RAM, missing Vulkan support, an incompatible Android version, manufacturer filtering, regional restrictions, or insufficient storage. The listed minimum specifications are not a universal compatibility guarantee.

Verify that you signed in with the correct Apple, Google, or supported Facebook identity, then complete the tutorial. Avoid creating more progress on the wrong profile. If the account remains incorrect, use Wargaming’s account-linking support guidance.

A purchase does not appear on another platform
Check where the purchase was processed. Apple, Google Play, PlayStation, and Xbox purchases can be restricted to their respective platforms under Wargaming’s policy.
The controller is not recognized
Confirm that the controller is compatible with the phone or tablet and operating-system version, pair it before launching the game if necessary, and check the game’s input settings. Support is advertised, but behavior is not guaranteed to be identical across all Bluetooth controllers and devices.
Who should play it?
The mobile version is a strong fit for existing PlayStation or Xbox players who want portable access to Legends, provided they own supported hardware and understand the purchase restrictions. It is also worth trying for new players who enjoy online naval PvP, live-service progression, and optional in-app purchases.
It is a weaker fit if you want an offline game, dislike free-to-play economies or disclosed loot boxes, use an older or low-memory Android device, or expect every paid purchase to transfer freely between console, iOS, and Android.
