Short answer: no Xbox Series X|S retail game has been publicly identified as supporting FSR Upscaling 4.1 yet. AMD announced on October 20, 2026 that the technology is coming soon to Xbox Series X|S, but supplied neither a console release date nor a launch-game list. AMD’s current supported-games page is a PC-focused list, so a title appearing there does not prove that its Xbox console edition uses FSR 4.1.
You can verify a console game only when AMD, Xbox, or the game’s developer or publisher names both the title and its Series X|S build. Windows instructions apply to the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally, Ally X, and other compatible PCs—not to Xbox consoles.

Not as a publicly documented, released console feature. AMD’s October 20, 2026 announcement says FSR Upscaling 4.1 is coming to Xbox Series X|S. It does not give a Series X|S availability date, identify a retail game, or describe a console-wide switch that upgrades existing games.
That distinction matters because “announced for Xbox” and “available in a particular Xbox game” are different milestones. Until a developer, publisher, AMD, or Xbox notice names a game and its Series X|S edition, the defensible count of confirmed console titles is zero—not because no developer may be working on one, but because no title has been publicly verified in the cited announcement.

Which Xbox games are confirmed to support FSR 4.1?
No Series X|S game is confirmed by the reviewed primary sources. AMD has not published a named Xbox console lineup, and no confirmed-game count is available. The table below separates what is established from what is often mistaken for confirmation.

AMD’s live FSR technologies page advertises more than 400 supported titles for its ML-accelerated FSR gaming materials, and the page includes available and upcoming games. That number is not a count of confirmed Xbox Series X|S FSR 4.1 games. It should not be reassigned to Microsoft, Xbox, or console-only releases.
Does AMD’s supported-games list include Xbox console versions?
No. The list is scoped to specified PC hardware and software paths. AMD distinguishes games with native Redstone integrations from FSR 3.1 titles that can use AMD Software’s upgrade feature. A shared name across PC and Xbox tells you only that a game exists on both platforms; it does not establish that the two builds use the same upscaler, version, settings, or driver path.
For example, Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl appear in AMD’s Redstone or upgrade list. Their entries are evidence about AMD’s listed PC eligibility route. They are not confirmation that each Xbox Series X|S edition has FSR 4.1.

On AMD’s page, an asterisk marks an FSR 3.1 integration that requires the driver upgrade feature. A title without an asterisk has a native integration of one or more Redstone technologies. Even “native Redstone” is a broader category than “every Redstone feature in every build,” so read the individual entry and platform notes rather than inferring a console feature from the game’s name.
Check the list at AMD’s FidelityFX supported-games page. AMD says the page covers available and upcoming games and that compatibility can change.
What does “FSR 4.1” mean on Xbox?
FSR Upscaling and FSR Frame Generation are separate features. An announcement about FSR Upscaling 4.1 does not automatically promise ML frame generation. AMD describes different eligibility rules for these Redstone features, so a game or device must be identified as supporting the specific feature in question.
FSR Upscaling versus frame generation
Upscaling reconstructs a higher-resolution image from a lower-resolution render. Frame generation creates additional frames through a separate feature path. A notice that says “FSR 4.1 upscaling” should not be rewritten as “FSR 4.1 frame generation.” Look for the exact feature name in developer documentation or a game’s patch notes.
Why the version numbers are easy to misread
AMD’s October 2026 SDK 2.4 documents FSR Upscaling 4.1.2. That is an implementation version in the SDK, not the name of an Xbox game and not a count of console releases. AMD’s FAQ also explains that FSR 4 was renamed FSR Upscaling to distinguish it from the other Redstone features. The terminology can therefore vary between older menus, developer notes, and current announcements.

AMD’s older Xbox developer page states: “Xbox developers can now access FSR 1 and 2 in the Xbox Game Development Kit.” That sentence documents earlier versions. Separately, a Microsoft developer sample targets FSR 3.1.4 on Series X|S. Neither document demonstrates a shipped FSR 4.1 retail title. The historical Xbox page is at AMD GPUOpen Xbox documentation.
How do I check FSR 4.1 compatibility on Xbox Series X|S?
Use platform-specific evidence, not a game’s cross-platform name or output resolution. Because AMD has not established a universal console checker, verification currently means checking official announcements and the exact Series X|S build.
- Confirm that Xbox support has launched. Recheck AMD and Xbox communications to see whether “coming soon” has changed to an available console feature.
- Find a title-specific statement. Look for a developer or publisher patch note, technical blog, or Xbox announcement that names the game and explicitly says its Series X|S edition uses FSR Upscaling 4.1.
- Check the platform label. The statement should identify Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, or Series X|S. A PC-only note, a Windows driver article, or an unqualified franchise announcement is insufficient.
- Check the feature name and version. Make sure the wording says FSR Upscaling 4.1 (or an unambiguous equivalent), rather than FSR 1, FSR 2, FSR 3.1.4, a generic “FSR,” or frame generation.
- Verify the game build. A patch may add the feature only to a later version. Install the update cited by the developer and check the game’s video or graphics menu for the documented option, if the developer exposes one.
- Do not treat output settings as proof. 4K output, a 60-fps performance mode, temporal upscaling, or a PC review image does not identify the upscaler used by the console build.
This process is deliberately conservative: it prevents a PC compatibility entry or an older Xbox integration from being presented as a current Series X|S FSR 4.1 confirmation.
How do I check FSR 4.1 on an Xbox Ally or Windows PC?
The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X are Windows 11 PC handhelds, not Series X|S consoles. Their PC game and driver controls follow AMD’s Windows path. AMD names the Ally X configuration with a Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor in its announcement; the base Ally uses Ryzen Z2 A, and ASUS describes both as Windows devices that run PC games.
Check the game and hardware first
- Open AMD’s supported-games page and locate the exact game entry.
- Note whether the entry is native or has an asterisk. The asterisk identifies an FSR 3.1 game that needs AMD Software’s upgrade feature.
- Check whether your processor or GPU is eligible. AMD’s SDK 2.4 lists Radeon RX 9000, RX 7000, and RX 6000 families and selected Ryzen processors for the documented PC paths.
- Check the game build, AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition version, and the handheld maker’s availability notes. AMD specifies driver 26.10.1 or newer for certain PC upgrades and new APU support.
Use a native integration
- Launch the game and open its graphics, display, or video settings.
- Look for “FSR Upscaling” or the older menu label “AMD FSR 4.”
- Select the documented quality preset, such as the option named by the game. The available presets vary by title.
- Confirm that the setting is applied after restarting if the game requests it.
Use AMD’s driver upgrade route
For an eligible asterisked FSR 3.1 title, AMD’s documented sequence is:

- Open AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition.
- Choose Gaming, then Graphics.
- Enable AMD FSR Upscaling.
- Launch the game.
- Enable the game’s own FSR setting and choose the desired quality preset.
This Windows route is not a hidden Xbox-console switch. Do not apply it to Series X|S, where the reviewed sources establish no equivalent user control.
What hardware and software eligibility does AMD document?
AMD’s SDK 2.4 documentation describes FSR Upscaling 4.1.2 and the supported PC families below. Eligibility is the intersection of hardware, driver, game integration, and game build; meeting only one condition is not enough.
| Component | Documented detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Graphics hardware | Specified Radeon RX 9000, RX 7000, and RX 6000 families | The supported GPU path is not universal across every Radeon or every PC |
| Processors | Selected Ryzen processors, including supported APU routes | Some handheld and integrated-graphics configurations depend on the processor model |
| Driver | AMD Software 26.10.1 or newer for specified PC upgrades and new APU support | An older driver can leave the upgrade unavailable even when the game is listed |
| Game integration | Native Redstone integration or an FSR 3.1 entry eligible for the driver upgrade | The two routes use different activation steps |
On ineligible hardware, AMD says the system can fall back to analytical FSR 3 rather than deliver FSR 4.1. Therefore, seeing an FSR option in a menu does not by itself identify the 4.1 implementation.
Read the version and hardware details in the AMD FSR SDK documentation, and follow the handheld manufacturer’s instructions for driver rollout and supported device configurations.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What are the most common FSR 4.1 compatibility mistakes?
- Counting the PC list as an Xbox list. The AMD page’s platform scope is PC. A game’s console edition needs its own evidence.
- Confusing “coming soon” with “available.” AMD’s October 20 announcement contains no Series X|S release date.
- Confusing FSR 4.1 with FSR 3.1.4. The latter appears in historical or sample documentation and does not establish the newer retail feature.
- Confusing upscaling with frame generation. They are separate Redstone features with separate eligibility.
- Reading “native Redstone” too broadly. That label means one or more Redstone technologies are integrated; it does not guarantee every feature in every platform build.
- Assuming a console-wide toggle exists. The reviewed sources describe game integration and a Windows AMD Software route, not a Series X|S control that upgrades every title.
- Using a hardware name as proof. An Xbox Ally is a Windows PC handheld. Its compatibility cannot answer whether a Series X|S game supports FSR 4.1.
When should you recheck the Xbox FSR 4.1 list?
Recheck official AMD, Xbox, and developer or publisher notices before naming a console game or buying hardware for this feature. During the rollout, a two-day refresh interval is sensible because AMD’s supported-games page and handheld driver availability can change. The first reliable console list will require title-specific Series X|S statements, not just a new version of AMD’s PC page.

Until those statements appear, the accurate answer remains: Xbox Series X|S support has been announced for the future, but no specific retail game is publicly verified as using FSR Upscaling 4.1.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Xbox Series S excluded from FSR Upscaling 4.1?
Nothing in AMD’s announcement excludes Series S; it refers to Xbox Series X|S together. However, no game-specific Series S confirmation or performance detail is published, so support for that console should be treated as unverified until a title notice names it.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsCan a console game update enable FSR 4.1 without adding a menu option?
Yes, a developer could integrate an upscaler without exposing a user-facing switch, so the absence of a menu item is not conclusive. Verification should come from the developer’s technical or patch documentation identifying the Series X|S build and feature.
Does a PC game’s FSR 4.1 setting carry over to its Xbox save or account?
Graphics features are implementation details of each platform build; a cloud save or linked account does not transfer PC rendering options to a console. Treat PC and Xbox compatibility as separate until the developer explicitly documents parity.
Where can I find the first confirmed Xbox FSR 4.1 game?
Watch AMD and Xbox announcements, then check the individual developer or publisher’s patch notes for an explicit Series X|S reference. AMD’s PC supported-games page can provide leads, but it is not itself a console confirmation.
