Best bets from the December lineup
These are editorial picks based on the lineup and Xbox’s descriptions—not claims of independent gameplay testing.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
The December 4 addition was the month’s largest single-player adventure pick. It was listed for cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S with Game Pass Premium. Because the plan label in the announcement is specific, check the plan attached to your account rather than assuming that every Game Pass tier included it.
Mortal Kombat 1
Players looking for a fighting game received Mortal Kombat 1 on December 10 across cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. Xbox’s announcement emphasized the rebooted universe, revised fighting system, additional modes, and fatalities.

Other games highlighted in Xbox’s December roundup
Xbox’s announcement included an “In Case You Missed It” section. These games belong to the same monthly announcement; they were not a second official December wave.
- CloverPit — Listed for cloud, console, handheld, and PC with Game Pass Ultimate, Standard, and PC Game Pass.
- Marvel Cosmic Invasion — Listed as the December 1 arrival and also highlighted in the catch-up section.
- Total Chaos — Identified as a day-one Game Pass addition.
- Young Suns — Identified as a day-one Game Pass addition.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion should therefore be counted once, not once in the dated list and again as a separate catch-up release.
Game Pass Essential additions
Xbox separately announced three games for Game Pass Essential on December 3. They were not presented as part of the main additions list:
- Stellaris
- World War Z: Aftermath

December updates, events, and perks
Not everything in the roundup was a new Game Pass catalog game. Xbox also listed the following related content:
- Sea of Thieves: Season 18 — Arrived December 11 as a seasonal game update.
- Dead by Daylight Bone Chill — An in-game event beginning December 9.
- Palworld: Home Sweet Home — An update scheduled for December 17.
- In-game benefits — Perks or benefits were listed for PUBG Battlegrounds, Delta Force, and The Crew Motorfest.
These updates, events, and perks should not be added to the new-game total.
What you need to check before installing
- Confirm your plan. December’s entries were split among Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, PC Game Pass, Game Pass Standard, and Game Pass Essential. A game’s presence in the overall announcement did not guarantee access through every plan.
- Confirm your platform. The labels varied between cloud, console, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and handheld. A console listing also does not necessarily mean that every Xbox console generation was supported.
- Check the current catalog. The dates in this article describe the December 2025 announcement. Games can leave, plans can change, and regional availability may differ.
- Start departing games early. The December 15 titles had a shorter deadline than the December 31 titles. If you intend to finish one, begin before the listed removal date rather than waiting for the final day.
- Use the appropriate device. Cloud gaming requires a supported device and compatible service availability, while PC games require a compatible Windows setup. Handheld availability also depends on the specific device and access method.
Can you give someone access to Game Pass?
If you’re buying access for someone else, an Xbox Game Pass gift card can be redeemed toward a Game Pass subscription, subject to Microsoft account, region, and current redemption terms. Check the retailer’s denomination, region, fulfillment method, and current availability before buying; this article does not assume a particular card format or price.
