Early-October 2026 reports say eight full games are set to leave Xbox Game Pass on October 15, 2026. The “5 games” figure in the headline does not match those reports, and the list is secondary coverage that attributes it to the Leaving Soon section of the Xbox app. Xbox Wire’s recent-news archive, checked on October 8, 2026, did not include an official announcement of these departures, so confirm the list in your own app before you plan around it.
Why the count is eight, not five
Three secondary reports dated October 3, 2026 form the basis of the list. GeekChamp’s article is titled “8 Games Reported Leaving October 15, 2026,” and iTechGuides’ article of the same date uses the same eight-game count. TalkEsport’s article is titled “All 9 Games and Dates,” and a second iTechGuides article carries a “9 Games” headline. None of these counts is five.
The difference between eight and nine comes down to one entry. The eight full games are the titles listed below. The ninth entry is Superball, which TalkEsport describes as a Game Pass perk rather than a full game leaving the catalog. Whether a perk should count as a departure is a counting choice, so the honest headline figure is eight full games, with a separate perk entry noted.

Platforms and regions
Platform coverage is not uniform across the reports. iTechGuides’ eight-game article identifies Nova Roma as PC-only, while the reporting does not settle the platform scope of the other titles. Because the reports disagree, do not assume a title is leaving on every device you play on. Check the listing for your own platform, and check the region your account uses. The reporting does not establish whether availability differs by region.
What is not confirmed
- Official status: The list is attributed to the Xbox app’s Leaving Soon section by secondary coverage. No Xbox announcement of these departures was found in the Xbox Wire archive as of October 8, 2026.
- Removal time: The reporting does not state the exact time on October 15, 2026 when any title would leave the catalog.
- Permanence: The reporting does not establish whether the list is final or may change before the date.
- Prices and discounts: No purchase price, Game Pass member discount, or physical edition was verified for any listed title. If you want to buy a title, use the live store page for your region rather than a price quoted in an article.
- Progress and saves: The reporting does not describe what happens to progress or saves for players who already own a title.
How to check the list before October 15
- Open the Xbox app and find the Leaving Soon section. This is the source the reports cite for the list.
- Confirm that each title you care about appears there for the platform you play on.
- Confirm that the listing matches the region your account uses.
- Treat Superball as a separate perk entry unless the app lists it as a full game.
- Check the Xbox Wire news page for any official announcement about the October catalog change.
