When and where the Xbox Games Showcase aired
The showcase streamed Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. Pacific / 1 p.m. Eastern. The The Outer Worlds 2 Direct began immediately afterward. Xbox listed streams on its official YouTube channels, including Xbox and Bethesda, with regional language streams and accessibility options. Xbox’s event guide said the broadcast would offer English captions, English audio description, and American Sign Language (ASL) and British Sign Language (BSL) streams; additional language versions would follow after the broadcast.

The ROG Xbox Ally was the hardware headline
Xbox and ASUS introduced the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, Windows-based gaming handhelds designed to provide access to Xbox and other PC storefront games on a portable device. In its June 8, 2025 recap, Xbox said the handhelds were planned for a holiday 2025 launch in select markets, with availability to follow in markets where the ROG Ally line was sold. Xbox said pricing and pre-orders would come later; the announcement did not provide a price or a hardware-spec comparison.

Microsoft Game Dev said every game shown in the showcase would run on Xbox Ally. It also described Xbox Play Anywhere as allowing one purchase to carry progress and achievements across Xbox console, PC and Xbox Ally. These were announcement-era statements: the cited pages do not establish current model names, regional availability, price or stock.

For Final Fantasy fans, Xbox announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade was coming to Xbox and that Final Fantasy XVI became available on Xbox that day. The event also covered Age of Mythology: Retold – Heavenly Spear, The Elder Scrolls Online: Seasons of the Worm Cult, Fallout 76’s Gone Fission update, the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of the Giants DLC, and Sea of Thieves Season 17.

Microsoft Game Dev said every new game in the showcase was Xbox Play Anywhere. The program was described as supporting a single purchase with shared progress and achievements across Xbox console, PC and Xbox Ally. That broad statement does not replace checking an individual game’s listing for its platforms, Game Pass plans or other specific terms.

The event mixed hardware with game premieres, sequels, ports, downloadable content and continuing updates. Xbox also said its Grounded 2 community had “over 25 million players and counting”; that figure was Xbox’s own description in its recap, not an independently audited count.
