Yes. The Xbox Nano Controller is designed to work with Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One consoles through Xbox Wireless. It can also connect by Bluetooth to Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs, tablets, selected Android and iOS devices, and compatible Smart TVs. Mobile and Bluetooth support is conditional: the exact device, operating-system version and game or app determine which features work.
The controller has an internal rechargeable battery. A USB-C charging cable is required but is sold separately, so check that the package you buy includes—or budget for—a cable.

| Xbox Series S | Xbox Wireless | Supported | Use the console’s Xbox Wireless pairing process. |
| Xbox One | Xbox Wireless | Supported | Use the console’s Xbox Wireless pairing process. |
| Windows 10 PC | Bluetooth | Supported; Xbox Accessories button mapping is available | A compatible USB-C cable is required when using the Xbox Accessories app. |
| Windows 11 PC | Bluetooth | Supported; Xbox Accessories button mapping is available | A compatible USB-C cable is required when using the Xbox Accessories app. |
| Android phone or tablet | Bluetooth | Listed as supported | Only selected devices and Android versions are covered; some functionality may not work. |
| iPhone or iPad | Bluetooth | Listed as supported | Only selected devices and iOS versions are covered; some functionality may not work. |
| Compatible Smart TV | Bluetooth | Supported on compatible models | Smart-TV support is not universal. Samsung Gaming Hub is a documented example in selected regions. |
The key distinction is that Xbox consoles use Xbox Wireless, while the other categories in the table use Bluetooth. A Bluetooth-capable device is not automatically guaranteed to support every controller function.
Xbox Series X, Series S and Xbox One
All three listed Xbox console families are supported through Xbox Wireless: Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One. This is the controller’s native console connection rather than a Bluetooth connection, so pair it using the console’s normal Xbox Wireless controls.

How to pair with an Xbox console
- Turn on the console and the controller.
- Start the console’s standard wireless-pairing mode, then hold the controller’s pairing button until the status light indicates that it is searching.
- Wait for the console to identify the controller and complete the pairing prompt if one appears.
- Open a game and test both sticks, triggers, bumpers and the menu buttons before relying on the controller for a longer session.
If the controller was previously paired with a phone or PC, turn Bluetooth off on that nearby device while pairing to the Xbox. Otherwise the controller may reconnect to the last Bluetooth host instead of entering the console connection you want.
What Xbox Wireless support means
Xbox Wireless is the connection method specified for these consoles. The official compatibility statement does not provide a model-by-model list of Xbox One revisions or a separate exception for the Series X versus Series S, so the supported scope is the console families named above. Keep the console and controller firmware current if a game does not recognize an input, but do not assume that a firmware update can add support for an otherwise unsupported device.
Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs
Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs can connect wirelessly over Bluetooth. The Xbox Accessories app on either operating system can provide button-mapping functions, but the app requires a compatible USB-C cable to connect the controller to the PC. Bluetooth is therefore sufficient for ordinary wireless play, while the cable is needed for the app workflow and also provides a wired charging path.

Bluetooth setup on Windows
- Turn on Bluetooth in Settings > Bluetooth & devices (Windows 11) or Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices (Windows 10).
- Choose Add device, select Bluetooth, and put the controller into Bluetooth pairing mode with its pairing button.
- Select the Xbox Nano Controller when it appears. Wait for Windows to show it as connected before launching a game.
- In the game’s controller settings, select the gamepad profile if the title does not switch automatically from keyboard and mouse input.
These steps depend on the PC having working Bluetooth hardware and drivers. A desktop without Bluetooth needs a compatible Bluetooth adapter; the controller itself does not supply one.
Button remapping with Xbox Accessories
- Install or open the Xbox Accessories app on the Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC.
- Connect the controller with a compatible USB-C cable when the app asks for a wired connection.
- Select the controller in the app, apply the desired button layout, and save the profile.
- Disconnect the cable and test the saved mapping over Bluetooth if you want to play wirelessly.
Button mapping availability is documented for Windows 10 and Windows 11. The compatibility information does not promise that every game will honor every custom mapping, so check the game’s own control screen if an input behaves differently than expected.
Android phones and tablets
Android is listed as a supported platform over Bluetooth, but Microsoft qualifies mobile support as applying only to selected devices and versions. That qualification matters more than the Android brand name: two phones running different Android releases can expose different Bluetooth-controller behavior, and a game may support only a subset of controller inputs.

Pairing an Android device
- Open Settings > Connected devices (or the equivalent Bluetooth menu supplied by the Android manufacturer) and turn Bluetooth on.
- Put the controller into Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Tap the controller name when it appears and accept the pairing request.
- Open a game that explicitly supports external controllers and test movement, camera control, triggers and menu navigation.
If the phone reports a connection but the game does nothing, the likely issue is app-level controller support rather than a failed Bluetooth link. Try another controller-enabled game, remove and recreate the Bluetooth pairing, and check the phone manufacturer’s support notes for the installed Android version.

iPhone and iPad
iOS devices are also listed for Bluetooth use, with the same “selected devices and versions” qualification. An iPhone or iPad can therefore pair successfully yet still lack a particular feature in a game or system function. Compatibility should be checked against the exact iOS or iPadOS version and the individual game’s controller requirements.
Pairing an Apple mobile device
- Open Settings > Bluetooth and leave Bluetooth enabled.
- Put the controller into pairing mode and select it under Other Devices.
- Wait until iOS or iPadOS lists it as connected.
- Launch a controller-compatible game and verify the buttons and sticks before starting a multiplayer session.
When troubleshooting, forget the controller in Bluetooth settings and pair it again after turning off Bluetooth on any nearby PC or tablet that may be claiming the connection.

Smart TVs and cloud-gaming screens
The controller can connect by Bluetooth to compatible Smart TVs. “Compatible” is important: Smart-TV operating systems differ in Bluetooth profiles, supported input devices and available game apps, so the listing is not a guarantee for every television model.
Samsung Gaming Hub example
Samsung Gaming Hub is a documented example of Smart-TV support in selected regions. It should be treated as a regional and program-specific example, not as proof that every Samsung television—or every Gaming Hub account and title—will accept the controller. Check the TV’s current Gaming Hub and Bluetooth-controller requirements before buying for this use.
General Smart-TV pairing
- Open the television’s Bluetooth or input-device menu. The label may be Settings > Connections, General or Accessories, depending on the TV software.
- Choose the option to add a Bluetooth controller or gamepad.
- Put the controller into Bluetooth pairing mode and select it when the TV discovers it.
- Start the intended cloud-gaming or game app and test navigation, triggers and the system back/menu commands.
A TV can show the controller as paired while an individual app ignores it. In that situation, confirm that the app supports external Bluetooth gamepads and that the television’s software is up to date.

Battery, charging and the USB-C cable
The Xbox Nano Controller uses an internal rechargeable battery. It is not designed around user-swappable AA batteries, so you need access to USB-C charging whenever the battery is depleted. The USB-C cable is sold separately according to the product information.
- Buy a USB-C cable that supports charging and fits the controller’s port.
- For Windows button remapping, use a cable that also provides a reliable data connection; a charge-only cable may not let the Xbox Accessories app detect the controller.
- Keep a cable near the console or TV if the controller is shared between rooms, because Bluetooth pairing does not replenish the battery.
The specifications supplied for this model do not state battery capacity, runtime, charging time or whether a cable is included in every regional package. Verify the box contents for your market rather than assuming a cable is bundled.
Choosing the right connection for your setup
| Your setup | Best connection to use | Check before purchase |
|---|---|---|
| Series X, Series S or Xbox One | Xbox Wireless | Confirm that you are buying the Xbox Nano Controller model, not a similarly named Bluetooth-only pad. |
| Windows 10/11 gaming PC | Bluetooth for play; USB-C for Xbox Accessories mapping | Your PC needs Bluetooth hardware, and the cable must support data for app configuration. |
| Android or iOS mobile gaming | Bluetooth | Check the exact phone/tablet model, operating-system version and game’s controller support. |
| Smart-TV gaming | Bluetooth | Confirm that the TV platform and the intended app support external gamepads; regional hubs may have additional limits. |
Troubleshooting compatibility problems
The Xbox console cannot find the controller
- Turn off Bluetooth on nearby phones, tablets and PCs so they cannot capture the controller.
- Restart both the console and controller, then repeat the Xbox Wireless pairing process.
- Move the controller closer to the console during pairing and remove other wireless interference where practical.
- If another controller works but this one does not, check for a firmware update or exchange the unit under the seller’s warranty terms.
Windows pairs but a game does not respond
- Confirm that Windows lists the controller as connected under Bluetooth settings.
- Close and reopen the game after pairing; some games detect controllers only at launch.
- Use the Xbox Accessories app with a data-capable USB-C cable to check detection and mapping.
- Look in the game’s input menu for a gamepad or controller toggle.
Mobile or TV pairing succeeds but features are missing
- Check whether the device and operating-system version fall within the manufacturer’s supported list.
- Test a second controller-enabled game or app to separate a platform problem from an app limitation.
- Forget the Bluetooth device and pair again after restarting the host device.
- Expect that some functions may remain unavailable even when basic buttons and sticks work; Microsoft explicitly applies that qualification to mobile and Bluetooth use.
Price and release timing
The US Microsoft Store listing gives the Xbox Nano Controller a price of $49.99 and a listed release date of November 4, 2026. Those are listing details for the US market, not a universal price or proof of availability in every country. Regional taxes, stock and release timing can differ, so verify the store page for your location before ordering.
Because the controller’s mobile, Bluetooth and Smart-TV support depends on device versions and software, the safest purchase decision is to check the exact host device first and treat the $49.99 figure and November 4 date as changeable store information.
