What did SEGA reveal?
SEGA announced Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties during RGG Summit 2025. The package combines two stories: a reimagining of 2009’s Yakuza 3 and Dark Ties, a new story centered on Yoshitaka Mine, Kiryu’s adversary. SEGA shared an announcement trailer and more information through its reveal announcement.
Yakuza Kiwami 3
Kazuma Kiryu is back in Okinawa, where he runs the Morning Glory orphanage. Threats to the orphanage draw him into a Tojo Clan succession dispute and a political conspiracy. SEGA describes new cutscenes, more intense battles, Tokyo and Okinawa settings, and minigames.

Dark Ties
The additional story follows Mine’s path from startup entrepreneur to hardened yakuza. It is a new Mine-focused narrative, rather than another version of Kiryu’s Yakuza 3 story.
Platforms and editions
SEGA lists the game for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Its launch page distinguishes package and digital editions and identifies Xbox Series X|S and Steam as digital-only. The physical package edition is for PS5; verify a retailer’s current listing for region-specific stock and price.

SEGA’s launch page also lists a free demo for PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Demo save data does not carry over to the full game. A Digital Deluxe Edition and add-on packs are listed as well; check the relevant platform store for current availability and included content.
What happened to the original Yakuza 3 digital listing?
In a pre-release notice, SEGA said standalone digital sales of Yakuza 3 for PS4, Xbox One, and Steam would be discontinued from February 11, 2026 at 10:59 p.m. UTC+8. SEGA said the game would remain available as part of the Yakuza Complete Series bundle from February 12, while cautioning that timing could differ by country or region. This was a historical storefront notice; it does not establish current availability in every market. See SEGA’s series portal for the notice and its regional caveat.

Is Yakuza Kiwami 3 part of SEGA’s 27.7 million sales figure?
No. SEGA’s 2026 launch announcement says the Like a Dragon franchise had more than 27.7 million standalone game sales worldwide. That is a franchise-wide figure, not sales of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties.
