Its English-language HD remaster launched on October 10, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. It is a remaster of the PSP title, not a new sequel.
What is Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga?
Nihon Falcom describes the game as a battle-action crossover featuring popular characters from its Ys and The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky series. The original version launched for PlayStation Portable in 2010, according to Falcom’s September 12, 2025 announcement.
The 2025 release brings the PSP game to a wider audience with an English-language HD remaster. The return is therefore a new release of an older game, rather than a new entry developed for 2025.
When and where did the remaster launch?
The English-language remaster launched October 10, 2025, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. Falcom’s announcement identifies the date and platforms; the PC version is listed on Steam.

What does the 2025 remaster add?
Steam’s product listing describes the PC edition as supporting HD and 4K display resolutions, 60 FPS, online and local multiplayer, rollback netcode, English voice acting, and unlockable wallpapers and soundtracks. These are listed features, not independent performance-test results. The Steam description calls couch and online multiplayer with rollback netcode a first for the game.
The release credits differ by source: Steam lists Nihon Falcom as developer and refint/games as publisher, while Falcom’s announcement attributes the English-language release to U+1F342 BV. Those labels should not be treated as interchangeable.

Can you buy a physical copy?
The official announcement and Steam listing do not establish whether the remaster has a physical edition, so its platform list alone does not confirm a boxed release. They also do not establish current retailer availability for the original PSP game. Check a retailer’s current listing for format, region, language, condition, and stock before buying; an original PSP copy is not the 2025 remaster.
