What is Project C4 called now?
The full revealed title is ZERO PARADES – For Dead Spies. ZA/UM’s original announcement introduced Project C4 as a “mind-warping espionage RPG” built around introspection, character-driven dialogue and dice-steered encounters. The full title and that initial description appear in the ZA/UM Studio announcement; the later PlayStation Blog overview and the publisher’s Steam catalog use the revealed name, with the catalog shortening it to ZERO PARADES.
What kind of game is ZERO PARADES?
In the PlayStation Blog post dated September 24, 2025, ZA/UM Marketing Director Sven Paluch called it a narrative-first espionage RPG steeped in paranoia, surrealism and redemption. Players take the role of Hershel, an operant navigating a world where trust is scarce and betrayal is common. These are the studio’s descriptions of the game, not independent findings from hands-on play.
How do its encounters and character systems work?
Dramatic Encounters and dice rolls
Paluch describes Dramatic Encounters as high-intensity scenes in which time pauses while players choose how to respond to danger. Attributes and dice rolls influence outcomes. A failed roll does not end the sequence: as Paluch puts it, “The story continues no matter what happens – you’ll just be better off if it goes well.”

Exert and “failing forward”
ZA/UM calls its approach “failing forward”: the story moves on after a failed roll, while success may leave Hershel in a better position. The Exert action adds a third die, letting the player keep the best two results for an advantage. The PlayStation Blog says Exert comes with a sacrifice, but does not specify exactly what that cost is.
Conditioning
Conditioning is described as a spy-training mechanic for reinforcing thoughts that can change skills or unlock new ways of thinking. Players balance benefits and drawbacks as they shape Hershel. Paluch compares the idea to Disco Elysium’s Thought Cabinet, while saying Conditioning works more quickly.

The available platform statements come from different sources and dates, so they should be read separately:

ZA/UM’s Steam publisher catalog lists a ZERO PARADES original soundtrack and art booklet as digital products. The reviewed official listings do not establish a physical edition, physical soundtrack, printed book or licensed merchandise.
