Choose the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for its officially listed improvements to resolution and text visibility. There are no documented in-game graphics or performance settings to tune: pick handheld, tabletop, or TV mode for your setup, then use the control method that feels comfortable.
What settings can you actually change?
Nintendo’s US store listing describes the Switch 2 Edition as offering “Improved resolution and text visibility, with support for mouse controls for menu selection and character movement.” It does not list a game-specific resolution selector, frame-rate option, mouse sensitivity setting, or graphics preset. There is no official numeric setting to recommend.

The listing also says Joy-Con 2 (L) can control cursor movement and some buttons. It supports TV, tabletop, and handheld modes. Nintendo does not claim that any one mode runs better than another. Nintendo’s US listing for Alphadia I & II – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition identifies KEMCO as publisher, Exe Create Inc. as developer, Japanese and American English as languages, and October 1, 2026, as the release date.
Choose a play mode for your setup
| Mode | Best fit | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| Handheld | Portable play and reading directly on the built-in screen | Nintendo lists handheld support and improved text visibility, but gives no measurements or handheld-specific setting. |
| TV | A larger viewing area on a television | Nintendo lists TV mode; no game-specific TV resolution or performance advantage over handheld is stated. |
| Tabletop | Stand-supported play or sharing the screen | Nintendo lists tabletop support. The game is listed for one player on one system. |
These are practical choices based on the supported modes, not claims that one mode has better image quality or performance.
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
Pick the input method that suits you
Start with ordinary Joy-Con controls if they are already comfortable. Try the supported mouse-style input if you prefer it for selecting menus or moving characters. Nintendo also notes that Joy-Con 2 (L) can move the cursor and operate some buttons. The listing does not compare the methods, so mouse input is an alternative—not an officially faster or better choice.
