Call of Duty’s Season 04 Reloaded announcement described the trial as access to Multiplayer and Zombies, excluding Multiplayer Ranked Play. It did not itself establish the exact Xbox event dates; those came from Xbox’s announcement. Do not apply Xbox’s dates or eligibility to PlayStation or PC without checking their own current listings. Call of Duty’s Season 04 Reloaded details describe the mode exclusion.
Is Black Ops 7 permanently free?
No. A limited-time Multiplayer and Zombies trial is not permanent free access to the full premium game. The July Xbox event ended on July 6, 2026. The official sources available for October 8 do not establish that a new trial is active.

There have been other limited offers, but they should not be mistaken for a full-game giveaway. A separate Call of Duty announcement made the Endgame mode free to play for a limited time, and a June 2026 update said Endgame would remain free through the end of Season 05. Those statements concern Endgame, not the full game, and do not confirm whether that mode was still free on October 8. See the Season 03 announcement and the Australia-region Season 04 update for those mode-specific details.
How to check for another free-play event
- Check the current Free Play Days collection on Xbox or the game’s Xbox store page if you play on Xbox. Sign in to see whether an install option is available.
- For PlayStation or PC, check that platform’s official store or event listing. The Xbox event announcement does not establish dates, availability, or access conditions on other platforms.
- Read the offer’s dates, time zone, eligible platform, modes, exclusions, and any account or subscription conditions before downloading. An old event page is not proof that access is still free.
For an ongoing purchase or subscription route, consult the official Black Ops 7 store page and the terms shown for your platform. The page lists Xbox, Xbox PC, PlayStation, Battle.net, Steam, and Game Pass; availability and current terms can vary. It also says an internet connection and Activision account are required to play, and a mobile phone number may be required.
