In September 2024, YouTuber 小宁子 XNZ showed a 1:1 3D-printed mock-up based on a rumored design for Nintendo’s next console. It was a physical model, not an authenticated or working Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo Switch 2 is now an official product, but that does not verify the old mock-up or the leak behind it.
What did XNZ print?
Nintendo Life reported on 20 September 2024 that the 小宁子 XNZ channel had shown a life-size model of a rumored Switch successor. The report described the imagined design as larger and slightly more curved than the original Switch. XNZ said she had had the model file “for a while,” according to the report.
The print made the rumored shape tangible, but it did not establish that the design came from Nintendo. Nintendo Life explicitly cautioned that the leak might be bogus and that viewers should treat the video and its additional rumors cautiously. Read Nintendo Life’s September 2024 report.
Is the 3D print real?
The reported object was a real physical mock-up. What the print cannot prove is that the design it copied was genuine, final, or made by Nintendo. A 3D-printed replica can be built from a drawing or CAD file without access to a finished console.

Gameranx also covered XNZ’s video on 20 September 2024, describing the model as a print based on leaked CAD images. Its article repeated rumor-era claims about features, including an alleged 8-inch display; those claims were not verified specifications of the print or proof of Nintendo hardware. How was the later SwitchUp mock-up different?
A second, distinct mock-up appeared in December 2024. Gameranx reported that SwitchUp received a 3D-printed model from accessory maker iVolver, along with a tempered-glass screen protector and a custom case. The report said it looked identical to XNZ’s model, but this was a separate presentation—not evidence that both prints were official or that either established the final console design. What does the old leak tell us now?
Nintendo of America now lists Nintendo Switch 2 as an official current product. That present-day status does not retroactively authenticate the specific rumor, CAD material, or details shown in XNZ’s 2024 mock-up. For current product information, use Nintendo of America’s Switch 2 page; keep it separate from claims made around the earlier leak.
