Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallOutdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down
One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchIf CODE VEIN II is crashing on PC, start with the safest checks: update the game, confirm your PC meets the published requirements, and verify the installation in Steam. These steps can address outdated builds, missing or damaged files, and compatibility concerns—but no single generic tweak is a guaranteed crash fix. Work through the checks below in order, noting when and where the crash happens.
Try these fixes in order
1. Install the latest game update
Check the version shown on the title screen, then update CODE VEIN II through Steam if an update is available. Bandai Namco’s patch notes dated September 9, 2026 identify Ver. 2.01 and advise players to install the latest update before playing. That is the latest official version identified here; check the official patch notes for later releases.

Ver. 2.01 adds Steam support for NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation and NVIDIA Reflex. Bandai Namco says those features require compatible NVIDIA GeForce hardware and the latest GeForce Game Ready Driver; enabling them is not documented as a crash fix.
2. Compare your PC with the published requirements
Check Windows, processor, memory, graphics card, DirectX support, and free storage against the Steam requirements and Bandai Namco’s requirements. The published minimum calls for Windows 11, 16 GB RAM, DirectX 12, 70 GB available storage, and the listed minimum CPU and GPU tiers. A system below the minimum may be a compatibility or performance factor, but the requirements alone cannot identify why a particular installation crashes.

The recommended configuration lists a Core i7-12700KF or Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 16 GB RAM, an RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6800, DirectX 12, and 70 GB of storage; an SSD is recommended for the higher-performance target. Steam describes that target as 1080p/60 fps on High, while its minimum estimate is 1080p/30 fps on Low. These are performance estimates, not assurances against crashes, and an SSD is not established as a crash remedy.
3. Verify the game files in Steam
Steam recommends verifying installed files for game crashes. Restart the computer and Steam first, then:
- Open Steam Library and right-click CODE VEIN II.
- Select Properties, then Installed Files.
- Choose Verify integrity of game files and let the check finish.
Steam says verification may take several minutes. A few local configuration files may fail verification normally; that result alone does not necessarily mean the game installation is broken. See Steam’s verification instructions.
4. Match the crash to a documented issue
Think about the exact action that triggers the crash. Bandai Namco’s March 17, 2026 notes for Ver. 1.0.6 say a Steam crash involving the Big Picture virtual keyboard while entering a character name was fixed. The March 4, 2026 notes for Ver. 1.0.5 say a Photo Mode crash at the MagMell hot spring after certain actions was fixed. These are historical, specific fixes—not evidence that either issue affects current players generally.
- If the crash happens while naming a character with the Big Picture virtual keyboard, update the game and check the Ver. 1.0.6 notes.
- If it happens in Photo Mode at the MagMell hot spring, update and consult the Ver. 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 notes.
5. Undo a recent graphics or driver change as a test
If the crashes began immediately after changing a graphics setting or installing a display driver, record the current driver version and reverse that recent change for a controlled test. Change one thing at a time so you can tell whether the symptom changes. The game-specific notes require a current GeForce Game Ready Driver for the new NVIDIA features, but they do not establish that updating or rolling back a driver fixes CODE VEIN II crashes. Microsoft’s display troubleshooting guidance addresses flickering, not this game’s crashes.

6. Check whether a patch-specific problem is described
Read the notes for the version you are running, especially if the crash began after an update or follows a repeatable in-game action. Patch notes record particular fixes and optimizations; they are not a complete list of every possible crash or proof that an undocumented issue has a known solution. For example, Ver. 1.0.7 notes processing-load and motorcycle-stutter optimizations, which should not be mistaken for a general crash fix. Bandai Namco’s Ver. 1.0.7 notes provide the version-specific details.
7. Retest with the same conditions
After each change, launch the game and repeat the action that previously caused the crash, if it is safe and practical. Note whether the crash occurs at startup, during character naming, in Photo Mode, or during ordinary gameplay, and whether the timing or error message changed. This makes it easier to distinguish a repeatable trigger from a one-off failure and gives support a useful description.
8. Send a detailed report to support
If the game still crashes after updating and verifying its files, use the official CODE VEIN II Steam support page. Steam identifies Bandai Namco as the support provider. Include the crash point and exact error text, title-screen game version, Windows version, CPU, GPU and RAM, recent driver or graphics changes, and whether Steam verification found or replaced files.

The official configurations are useful for checking whether your PC is within the game’s stated hardware and software targets. They do not diagnose a crash on their own. Meeting the recommended configuration is not a guarantee of stability, and being below a target does not prove that hardware is the cause. No crash-rate statistic is established in the official materials cited here.
