Pearl Abyss describes Crimson Desert as an open-world action-adventure, not an MMO. Its story follows Kliff and the Greymanes in the world of Pywel. The publisher describes combat built around swords, axes, spears, ranged weapons and hand-to-hand attacks, including kicks, grapples and chained combos. Exploration includes climbing and gliding. When did Crimson Desert come out?
Crimson Desert launched worldwide on March 19, 2026. Pearl Abyss reported on April 15, 2026 that the game had surpassed 5 million copies sold worldwide. The same announcement cited a peak of 276,261 concurrent players on Steam since release. Both are publisher-reported figures from that date, not current sales or live player counts. What platforms can you play it on?
Pearl Abyss’s launch release listed PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Apple Mac, Epic Games Store and ROG Xbox Ally. The publisher’s support FAQ subsequently lists PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox on PC, GeForce NOW and the Mac App Store among current access routes. Availability depends on region and storefront, so check the live listing for your location and device before buying or installing. These routes do not imply that save synchronization works identically across platforms.

When does the Charting the Unknown DLC come out?
As of October 8, 2026, Pearl Abyss schedules Charting the Unknown for October 29, 2026. The publisher announced a two-week delay on September 30, saying it needed more development time for “a more polished and stable gameplay experience.” The listed release times are October 29 at 22:00 UTC, 15:00 PT and 18:00 ET, and October 30 at 07:00 KST/JST. Preorders are rolling out through PlayStation Store, Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store, with cosmetic preorder bonuses described in the DLC preorder notice. The notice says the DLC will not launch on the Mac App Store and will be unavailable in some markets or regions. Bonus eligibility and access are storefront-specific; check the local listing before ordering. Refund handling may depend on the platform.

Are there physical editions?
At launch, the announced physical editions were for supported console platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The lineup included Standard, Deluxe and Collector’s editions. Pearl Abyss and PLAION announced these launch prices in 2025; they are historical prices, not a current quote or guarantee of availability.

Does Crimson Desert have cross-save?
Yes. Pearl Abyss added cross-save support in Update 1.14 on July 16, 2026. The publisher’s save-data FAQ also distinguishes automatic and manual saves, recommends saving frequently and keeping multiple backup files, and warns that cloud synchronization can overwrite or corrupt progress. Cloud-save behavior can vary by platform, so do not assume that a cloud copy is a safe backup. Read Pearl Abyss Support’s save-data guidance before managing or moving saves.
