To preserve the option to continue Judy’s questline while still following Maiko’s plan, refuse the money when she offers it. These outcomes are reported by secondary guides; official, version-specific quest documentation for this choice was not found.
What accepting the payment changes
In Pisces, Maiko can take control of Clouds. If V accepts her payment afterward, guides report that Judy’s final side job, Pyramid Song, becomes unavailable. Because Judy’s romance route proceeds through that quest, this choice also prevents pursuing her romance through the questline.

The key distinction is accepting the payment—not simply allowing Maiko to take control. PowerPyx, Gamer Guides, and PC Gamer all describe accepting the reward as the outcome that closes off Judy’s later quest or romance path (PowerPyx; Gamer Guides; PC Gamer).
Choices and reported outcomes
| Choice in Pisces | Reported consequence for Judy’s questline |
|---|---|
| Let Maiko take control and accept her payment | Pyramid Song is reported to become unavailable, closing Judy’s quest-based romance route. |
| Let Maiko take control and decline her payment | Guides report that Judy’s later quest can still become available. Judy may be unhappy with the decision at the end of Pisces. |
| Reject Maiko’s plan and confront the Tyger Claw bosses | Guides present this as another route that keeps Judy’s questline in view and as a Judy-friendly alternative. |
How to keep Judy’s later quest available
- During Pisces, decide whether to follow Maiko’s plan or reject it; either way, the guides identify accepting her payment as the consequential lockout choice.
- If Maiko takes control of Clouds, refuse the payment when she offers it. Guide coverage reports that this preserves the possibility of receiving Pyramid Song.
Maiko’s fate and Judy’s reaction
Maiko’s survival can affect Judy’s immediate reaction to the events in Pisces, according to the consulted guides. That reaction is separate from the later quest lockout: the guides identify accepting Maiko’s payment as the condition that blocks Pyramid Song, and do not establish that Maiko’s survival alone determines whether the quest becomes unavailable.

Is Pisces the Judy romance scene?
No. Pisces affects whether Judy’s later questline remains available, but it is not the romance scene itself. PC Gamer’s guide says Judy is romanceable with a female body type and female voice; romance also depends on later choices during Pyramid Song (PC Gamer).
