The Epic Games Store’s free game for December 30, 2024 was [REDACTED], a Windows action roguelike from Striking Distance Studios and Krafton. The reported daily offer ended December 31, 2024, so it can no longer be claimed through that promotion.
What kind of game is it?
Epic describes [REDACTED] as a fast-action, isometric roguelike set in Black Iron Prison on Jupiter’s moon Callisto. You play a prison guard trying to reach an escape pod while fighting infected inmates, rivals and reanimated guards. Epic’s product-page description says, “Your job is simple – get to the last escape pod and get out alive.”

Each run starts over after death, while accumulated loot can unlock permanent weapons, suits and skills. Epic lists the game as single-player, with controller support, and tags it Action, Dungeon Crawler and Rogue-Lite. Striking Distance Studios developed it; Krafton published it. Epic lists its release date as October 31, 2024, and its platform as Windows.
When did the giveaway end?
GameGrin reported a one-day claim window, from 16:00 GMT on December 30 to 16:00 GMT on December 31, 2024. A separate historical giveaway archive lists the game from December 30, 2024 to January 6, 2025; that longer archive range is not the same as the date-specific offer window.

The game is not claimable now through that expired promotion. Epic Support’s general policy says weekly free games are available for seven days, with a new game every Thursday at 8 AM PT; claiming a game keeps it in the account permanently. That general weekly schedule does not change the reported timing of this past daily giveaway. Epic also says an Epic account with two-factor authentication is required to claim free games.
Epic’s listed PC system requirements
These are the Windows specifications shown on Epic’s product listing, not independently tested performance results. Epic lists Windows 10/11, 8 GB of RAM and DirectX 12 for both minimum and recommended configurations.
