Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.3, “The Promise of Tomorrow,” released on August 5, 2025. It continues the Alexandria story and adds the next Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid, a new dungeon, the Vault Oneiron treasure dungeon, a Crystalline Conflict stage, and player-facing interface changes. Full access to Patch 7.3 content requires a Dawntrail expansion license or the Complete Edition; installing the update alone does not unlock every feature.
Square Enix’s Patch 7.3 feature page gives the release date and headline overview, while the official North American patch notes detail changes and access conditions.

What does Patch 7.3 add?

The main scenario continues the Alexandria story. Square Enix’s synopsis describes modified memories, neo regulators, and fear of death spreading among Alexandria’s citizens, and presents the story as its next climax. The synopsis does not establish the story’s later outcomes.

Do you need Dawntrail for Patch 7.3?
Not to install the update, but Square Enix says access to the full Patch 7.3 content requires registering the code supplied with FINAL FANTASY XIV: Dawntrail or FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Complete Edition. Some new items are available by installing the update, while specific content has its own expansion-license requirements. The notes therefore distinguish receiving the update from having the license needed to access all of its content.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is in 7.3, and what came later?
Patch 7.3 means the August 5, 2025 update, not every release in the 7.3 series. Square Enix’s patch-note archive lists separate notes for 7.31, 7.35, and 7.38. Those later patch notes should not be treated as part of the original 7.3 launch.
