There is no single best Duty Roulette in Final Fantasy XIV: the right pick depends on whether you want leveling progress, a particular tomestone, or a specific kind of duty. Choose Leveling for leveling, and use the Patch 7.4 reward list below to compare tomestones. Each category’s enhanced roulette reward is available once per day, and official sources do not establish which roulette is fastest or best per minute.
How Duty Roulette works
Duty Roulette assigns a random duty from among those you have unlocked. Choosing a duty through its roulette grants enhanced rewards, claimable once per day for each category. Your available categories depend on unlocks and, for some roulettes, eligibility requirements. See Square Enix’s Party Play game manual for the system and category rules.

In the reward table, the listed quantities are roulette rewards from Square Enix’s Patch 7.4 notes, not guaranteed rewards for every duty run outside the daily roulette bonus. They are patch-specific and may change in later updates.
Which roulette should you choose?

The categories are not all interchangeable. Level Cap Dungeons selects a level 100 dungeon; High-level Dungeons selects a level 50, 60, 70, 80, or 90 dungeon. Main Scenario is a four-player duty, Normal Raids are eight-player duties, and Alliance Raids are 24-player duties. Trials draw from trials you have completed. Expert selects a current expert dungeon, while Mentor is restricted to players with battle mentor status. Guildhests are also a roulette category.

Square Enix’s Patch 7.4 notes give these roulette reward quantities:

A dash means the Patch 7.4 notes do not list that currency as a roulette bonus for the category; it does not mean the duty can never award that currency by another route. Frontline is listed as a Daily Challenge rather than one of the Duty Roulette categories in the game manual, so treat it as a separate option when you want PvP.

How to compare tomestone rewards
If you want poetics
Main Scenario has the largest listed roulette bonus among these categories at 350 poetics. Alliance Raid lists 120, High-level Dungeons 100, and Normal Raids 80. These are amounts, not a reward-per-minute ranking: the cited official material does not provide comparable duty durations or queue times.
If you want mathematics
High-level Dungeons and Alliance Raid list 120 mathematics each in Patch 7.4; Level Cap Dungeons, Leveling, and Main Scenario list 100 each. Expert and Trials list 60, Mentor 30, and Frontline’s daily challenge 50. Patch 7.4 removed the weekly limit on mathematics.

If you want mnemonics
Alliance Raid lists 50 mnemonics, Expert 40, and Leveling, Normal Raids, and Frontline each list 20. Level Cap Dungeons and Trials list 15, while Mentor lists 10. Mnemonics are subject to a weekly cap of 450 and a maximum store of 2,000; Patch 7.4 says you must be on a level 100 combat job to receive them.
Check access and item-level requirements
Patch 7.4 raised the average item-level requirement to 735 for Expert and 705 for Level Cap Dungeons (previously 720 and 690, respectively). The game manual notes that item-level rules apply to multiple categories; for Alliance Raid Roulette, the highest item-level requirement among eligible raids applies. Unlocks also determine which duties can enter a roulette’s selection pool. If a category is unavailable or registration fails, check the Duty Finder’s requirement and unlock information for that specific roulette.

Why old reward guides may disagree
Tomestone names and roulette rewards change with patches. For example, Patch 7.0 listed aesthetics, but Patch 7.4 says aesthetics were removed and lists mathematics and mnemonics instead. Treat the Patch 7.0 notes as historical, not as the current reward table. Check the latest official patch notes when a later update changes roulette rewards.
