What happened to the fired Rockstar workers?
The IWGB planned a protest for 8:00 a.m. UK time on November 6, 2025, outside Take-Two House, 30 Cleveland Street, London. The union said the action followed the dismissal of more than 30 Rockstar Games workers. The event was reported by Insider Gaming.
The dispute centered on why the workers were dismissed. The union characterized the dismissals as retaliation against employees organizing collectively. Rockstar’s reported position was that workers had discussed confidential information in a public forum. The union said the communications related to organizing and were legally protected. These are opposing claims, not a settled determination of the reason for the dismissals.
What did the tribunal hear?
The IWGB reported that a final Glasgow Employment Tribunal hearing began on September 10, 2026, and was scheduled to continue through October 16. The union described the case as involving 31 workers alleging that Rockstar unlawfully dismissed them. The schedule and case scope were reported in the IWGB’s September 7, 2026 announcement.

Reporting from The Independent described tribunal evidence that sharing company emails on Discord was an “egregious breach” of policy, alongside claimants’ unfair-dismissal claims connected to trade-union activity. That reporting concerned evidence presented during an ongoing hearing; it is not a final tribunal finding on the legality of the dismissals.
As of October 8, 2026, the hearing was still scheduled to run until October 16. The sources cited here do not establish a final judgment by that date.

Why do reports give different dismissal counts?
The figures refer to different groups and should not be treated as contradictory counts of the same case.

What have the former workers said about GTA VI?
Former workers reportedly asked fans not to boycott GTA VI and instead promoted an IWGB shirt intended to raise money for their legal proceedings, according to GamesRadar+. The IWGB’s September 2026 announcement stated that GTA VI was scheduled for release on November 19, 2026; that was the release date reported by the union at the time.
