Did the leak reveal the release date?
Not according to the reporting available. GamesRadar reported that screenshots appeared on the Microsoft Store ahead of the June 7, 2026 showcase and were later removed. Its report described images that included space-combat material, but did not verify that the July 28 date was among the leaked details. GamesRadar’s report is secondary coverage; the original listing and screenshots have not been independently verified here.
The date was confirmed publicly by Xbox Wire on June 7. Halo Studios’ original announcement, published October 24, 2025, had given only a 2026 release window. Halo Waypoint’s announcement describes the project as a ground-up remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign.
When can you play?
- Early access: July 23, 2026, for qualifying preorder editions; Xbox Wire describes the period as up to five days.
- General release: July 28, 2026.
- Regional timing: PlayStation’s US product page lists a global release at 8 a.m. PDT on July 28, with July 29 in Japan and select Asia-Pacific markets.

The announcement identifies Standard, Premium, and Collector’s Edition preorder options. Premium includes the game, an Alpha Halo Armory Pack with five armor skins and six weapon skins, a digital artbook, a digital short story, and a digital game manual. Xbox Wire also lists preorder cosmetic bonuses. Confirm current prices, platform-specific editions, and retailer inventory with the seller, as the official information cited here does not establish that every edition or a physical copy is available on every platform.
