These are reported workarounds, not confirmed ways to skip every quest—and reports published in 2025 do not establish whether either still works in the current game build.
How the reported chatbot workarounds work
Coverage of the game described certain NPC conversations as chatbot-driven. GameSpot and GamesRadar+ reported two player-shared approaches that could lead an NPC to give up promised loot or money without the player completing the associated task.

Claim the task is done in parentheses
In the first approach, the player writes a parenthetical statement asserting that the requested action has already happened. The idea is to imitate the NPCs’ own use of parenthetical stage directions, presenting completion as narration rather than explaining it in ordinary dialogue. GameSpot quoted Reddit user u/Proximis describing the realization this way: “At first, I tried to speak normally to the chatbots, but then I realized you have the power of (divine truth)”.
Echo the NPC as a question
The second approach, called the “Metal Gear method” by GameSpot, is to repeat the NPC’s most recent words as a question. GamesRadar+ also described this tactic. In the reported exchanges, the repetition could continue until the NPC eventually gave up the reward.

What the player reports actually establish
The reports describe loopholes in some chatbot conversations, not a universal side-quest skip. Dexerto recounted a Reddit example involving an NPC who wanted help finding a safe place to store food: the player reportedly sent nine replies without doing the task, then received thanks and a reward. That is one anecdote, not a measured success rate or evidence that nine replies—or any specific number—will work elsewhere.
The two approaches differ in the input they use, but available reports do not show that one is more reliable than the other:

What is known about the game’s AI NPCs
GameSpot described some NPC conversations as chatbot interactions. PC Gamer reported that some NPCs appeared to be powered by large language model chatbots and that players could communicate through text or a microphone. Those are descriptions by the outlets; the reports do not establish the specific model or backend through an official technical disclosure.
GameSpot described Where Winds Meet as free-to-play and reported its PC and PlayStation 5 launch. That context does not change the limits of the exploit reports: the described behavior applies to certain conversations, and no evidence in those reports shows it works across all NPCs or side quests.

Do these methods still work?
That is not established. The accounts were published in 2025, and they do not confirm the current game build, a subsequent patch, or a developer response. The official Where Winds Meet website does not resolve the reported methods’ present status. Treat them as historical player-reported behavior rather than a dependable, currently verified technique.
