Hytale Early Access began on January 13, 2026. The date was announced on November 28, 2025, after the game’s original founders reacquired the project following its cancellation. The launch has since passed: Hytale’s official site now lists the game as available.

Hytale Early Access started January 13, 2026. The Hytale Team announced the date on November 28, 2025, and confirmed the launch on January 13. The first announcement also said pre-purchases would open December 13, 2025. The date announcement and launch-day post make clear that January 13 was an Early Access release, not a promised date for the finished game.
What did the founders revive?
After Hytale was cancelled, its original founders reacquired the project and returned to an older, “legacy” build rather than continuing with a newer engine that had been intended as a complete cross-platform rewrite. The Hytale Team said it selected and merged more than 300 GitHub branches into a working branch. It also reported rehiring more than 40 former and new team members, bringing the team to 50. These are the studio’s own descriptions of the recovery effort, published in November 2025.
The same announcement said the founders were personally committing funding for many years and that Hytale and Hypixel Studios were independent again. Those statements describe the studio’s position at the time; they are not independent assessments of its finances.

What was included at Early Access launch?
The launch checklist was a snapshot of January 2026, not a guide to the game’s current feature set. In its launch post, the studio described the build as “unpolished and incomplete,” with bugs and missing features expected. It said work had focused for eight weeks on a build more than four years old, with hundreds of branches merged and thousands of bugs addressed. Those development figures are the team’s account, not independently measured totals.

Is Hytale available now, and what platforms are listed?
As of October 8, 2026, Hytale’s official homepage says “Hytale Is Available Now!” and lists official updates through September 2026. For a current feature list or purchase details, consult the official Hytale site and its latest update notes; launch-day omissions should not be treated as present-day limitations.
The official support guide lists Windows, Mac, and Linux and directs players to download the launcher from Hytale’s own website for security reasons. The reviewed official material does not establish console availability. See the Hytale download guide for the studio’s instructions.

When will Hytale leave Early Access?
The studio has not announced a fixed end date. Its official FAQ says Early Access will continue until the game feels polished and ready, without specifying how long that will take. January 13, 2026, is therefore the Early Access start date—not a full-release date or a schedule for leaving Early Access.
