PlayStation announced a three-hour God of War Ragnarök trial for PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe members in February 2023, but that was a time-limited promotion—not proof that the trial is available now. To check, sign in to your regional PlayStation Store account and look for a trial option on the game’s listing before subscribing or upgrading.
How to check for the trial now
- Sign in to the PlayStation Store using the account and region where you play.
- Search the Store for God of War Ragnarök and open its listing.
- If a trial option appears, check its displayed duration and the membership tier required on your account before making a subscription decision.
If the Store does not show a trial option, the 2023 announcement does not grant a current entitlement. PlayStation says Game Trial availability varies over time and by plan, so a listing in one region or at one date does not establish availability everywhere. PlayStation’s US PlayStation Plus information describes selected Game Trials as a Premium benefit.

What PlayStation announced in 2023
On February 15, 2023, PlayStation announced a three-hour, time-limited God of War Ragnarök trial for PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe members. The announcement said: “Trophies and save progress from this trial will carry over if you decide to purchase the full game.” That carryover statement applies to the historical promotion; it does not confirm an active trial today. Read PlayStation’s February 15, 2023 announcement.
Trial, catalog access, and buying the game are different options
A trial is a limited play period; Game Catalog access is a subscription benefit while the title is available in the catalog; buying the game is ownership. Do not treat one as confirmation of the others.

Which route makes sense?
- You want to test the game: Check for a current trial in your regional Store and confirm the terms shown there. Do not upgrade solely on the assumption that the old promotion remains active.
- You want subscription access: Check the local Game Catalog listing and plan terms. Catalog access is separate from the historical three-hour trial.
- You want to keep playing without relying on catalog availability: Consider purchasing God of War Ragnarök for PS5 or the applicable edition for your platform and region.
