It did not include Nintendo Switch 2 updates: Nintendo had scheduled a separate Switch 2 Direct for April 2. The presentation mixed newly announced games with fresh looks at known titles, partner games, remasters and ports, and releases available that day.
What was the March 27 Nintendo Direct?
It was a Nintendo Switch-focused presentation, not the Switch 2 hardware showcase. Nintendo’s recap and official video chapter list span a broad mix of genres and publishers, from role-playing games and farming simulations to rhythm games and platformers. Nintendo’s official Direct page also covered Virtual Game Cards and the Nintendo Today! app.

The distinction between a new reveal and a new look matters: Nintendo identified Rhythm Heaven Groove and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream as newly announced, while Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond received fresh looks.
Every game in the presentation, in order
The following titles are listed in the presentation order shown in Nintendo of America’s official video chapters. The list records what appeared in the Direct; it does not mean every game was newly announced.

Which games were new announcements or notable updates?
Newly announced
Nintendo specifically called out Rhythm Heaven Groove and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream as newly announced games. That makes them the clearest answers for viewers asking what the show revealed for the first time.
Fresh looks at anticipated games
Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond received fresh looks. They were important parts of the presentation, but Nintendo’s recap describes them as updates rather than new announcements.

A varied lineup rather than a single theme
The remaining chapter list brings together remasters such as DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake and SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered, collections such as PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY, and a range of partner titles. The official lineup does not classify every other game by debut status or publisher, so it is more accurate to treat the full list as games shown rather than label every entry a new reveal.
Release dates and availability Nintendo gave in its recap
These are release details from Nintendo’s March 27 announcement. They describe what Nintendo said at the time, not a check of each game’s current release or availability.

What else did Nintendo announce?
Virtual Game Cards

Nintendo Today!
Nintendo described Nintendo Today! as a free smart-device app for Nintendo Account holders with compatible devices. It offers news, videos, and comics related to selected Nintendo series and characters.

Our reaction to the show
The lineup’s clearest headline was the return of Tomodachi Life. Rhys Wood, TechRadar Hardware Editor, summed up his personal response: “Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream was absolutely the announcement of the show for me.” That is one reporter’s opinion, not a measure of wider audience reaction. TechRadar’s live report also called the Direct “an excellent Nintendo Direct” and named the Tomodachi Life reveal as its reporter’s most surprising announcement.
Beyond that standout, the Direct’s appeal depended on what viewers wanted from Switch: established series and remasters sat alongside new projects, partner games, and updates on two major upcoming titles. Its release windows ranged from specific calendar dates to a season or year, so the announcements offered different levels of timing detail.
