The biggest announcements
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater — August 28, 2025
Konami’s remake received a release-date trailer confirming August 28, 2025, on PS5. The footage provided the first in-game look at the Cobra Unit and confirmed the return of the Snake vs. Monkey minigame mode.
This was not the remake’s original announcement. It was a major release-date and gameplay update. The PlayStation recap specifically confirmed the PS5 version; it should not be treated as confirmation that the game is exclusive to PS5 or that every edition and platform was covered by this presentation.
See the official State of Play announcement roundup.
MindsEye — summer 2025 target on PS5
Build A Rocket Boy showed both cinematic story material and gameplay from MindsEye. The game follows Jacob Diaz in the fictional near-future Americana city of Redrock.

The demonstration included cover-based combat, enemies that flank, swarm and flush the player from cover, a support drone, vehicle chases and varied environments including urban districts, industrial locations, trailer parks and deserts. PlayStation and the developer described the game as targeting summer 2025 on PS5. That was an event-time window, not a precise date and not a current forecast.

Saros — Housemarque’s new PS5 game for 2026
Housemarque revealed Saros, a new PS5 title planned for 2026. The reveal introduced protagonist Arjun Devraj and established the game as a new project from the studio behind Returnal.
Because the release timing was given only as a year, “2026” should be read as a broad announced window rather than a specific launch date.

Borderlands 4 — September 23, 2025
Borderlands 4 received a confirmed September 23, 2025 release date for PS5. PlayStation also said a larger gameplay reveal would arrive in a later State of Play. This segment was primarily a date confirmation and preview of further coverage, not the game’s first reveal.

PlayStation Plus news
PlayStation separately announced February Game Catalog additions including Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, TopSpin 2K25 and the first episode of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. It also announced that Blue Prince and Abiotic Factor would join the catalog later in 2025, alongside the first three Armored Core games for Premium members.
These were subscription updates, not evidence that every game shown during the State of Play was included with PlayStation Plus. Catalog access depends on region, membership tier and rotation. Check the official PlayStation Plus page for current plan and catalog information.

The Bottom Line
The February 12, 2025 State of Play was a broad update show rather than a single blockbuster reveal: Metal Gear Solid Delta got its August 28 date and new gameplay, MindsEye received a substantial story-and-gameplay showcase, and Saros and Tides of Annihilation were introduced as new PS5 projects.
