If hair disappears only in one Roblox experience, the experience’s avatar type or the accessory’s category may explain it; if the Woman package is missing in the Avatar Editor, check the selected avatar rather than your account gender setting. A profile image that has not refreshed is a separate issue. Roblox’s official guidance does not explain what “defaults to 1.0” refers to, so identify the specific screen and control before treating that phrase as a confirmed setting or cause.
First, identify where the problem happens
Check whether the hair or Woman package is wrong in the Avatar Editor, in one named experience, or only in your profile thumbnail. These are different symptoms and point to different fixes:
- Avatar Editor: Check whether the intended package and hair are selected in avatar customization.
- One experience: Check that experience’s avatar type and whether the hair item is a layerable accessory.
- Profile image only: Try Roblox’s redraw guidance for a stale avatar image.
- Sudden reversion with a safety notice: Read the notification and use its Report mistake option if available.
The report that an avatar “defaults to 1.0” is not defined in Roblox’s official guidance cited here. Without the exact screen or control, it cannot be identified as a scale value, package defect, or particular setting.
Why hair may not appear in an R6 experience
Roblox distinguishes R6 avatars, built from six body parts, from R15 avatars, built from fifteen. Experiences can choose R6, R15, or both as their default avatar type. Roblox’s overview notes that an R15 avatar entering an R6 experience may look and move differently than usual, because the R6 technology was designed for classic blocky avatars and experiences built for them. Accessory compatibility also depends on the accessory category. Roblox specifically says that layerable accessories can only be equipped to R15 models. That rule should not be expanded into a claim that all hair fails on R6: the item’s category and the experience’s rig both matter. Roblox Creator documentation: Accessories.
What to check if hair is missing in one game
- Confirm that the hair is equipped in the Avatar Editor.
- Check the item’s category. If it is a layerable accessory, Roblox says it requires an R15 model.
- Check the experience’s avatar type or ask its developer whether it uses R6, R15, or both. The experience developer controls those settings.
- Compare the result in another experience or in the Avatar Editor. If the hair appears elsewhere, that helps narrow the issue to the original experience rather than proving the item is broken.
Why the Woman package may seem not to work
The Woman package is an avatar package. Changing the account’s gender preference does not change the avatar’s appearance; select the package or body in avatar customization instead. Check the avatar itself
- Open Roblox avatar customization.
- Look for the Woman package or the body components you intend to use and select them on the avatar.
- Check the avatar in the editor before diagnosing an individual experience. A game’s rig settings can affect how the avatar appears there.
Fix a stale profile image or gray X
If the avatar looks right in the editor but the image has not updated—or shows a gray X—Roblox Support recommends selecting Redraw under the avatar image. The refresh may take a few minutes. If that does not work, clear temporary browser files. This addresses a stale image; it does not establish that redraw can fix an incompatible accessory or an experience’s rig settings. If Roblox says your avatar was reset for safety
If the avatar suddenly reverts and Roblox sends an in-app safety notification, read the reason in that message. Use its Report mistake option if one is available. What “defaults to 1.0” does—and does not—tell you
Roblox’s cited official guidance does not define that phrase or connect it to the Woman package, R6 compatibility, or a specific avatar setting. To troubleshoot it, note the exact screen, the name of the control, and whether it happens in the editor or only in one experience. Until that is known, it is an unverified symptom, not evidence of a particular bug.
