The Sims 4 installation directory is the folder containing the game’s program files. Its exact location depends on whether you installed through the EA app, Steam, or Epic Games, and whether you chose a custom location. Check the game’s install location in its launcher rather than assuming there is one universal path.
Find The Sims 4 installation folder in your launcher

Open the EA app and go to your Library.

Select The Sims 4 and open its game-management or properties options.

Check the displayed install location. During installation, EA’s guide also tells players to review the location before downloading: EA’s The Sims 4 Base Game download guide.
EA does not publish one path that applies to every installation; the location can vary based on the choice made in the app.

Open Steam Library and select The Sims 4.

Open the game’s Properties and use the local-files or installed-files control to browse its files. The label may vary with Steam’s interface version.

To see which library folders Steam uses, open Steam > Settings > Storage.
On a default Windows Steam setup, the common games folder is C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommon. The Sims 4 folder is inside it. This is only a starting point: Steam supports libraries on other drives and at other paths. See Steam’s guidance on default installation locations.
Epic Games or Mac
EA lists Epic Games alongside the EA app and Steam as a supported storefront for The Sims 4 on PC and Mac. For an Epic Games installation, use the game’s management options in the Epic Games Launcher to locate its installed files. On Mac, use the storefront’s game-management or install-location controls; there is no single published Mac program path established for every launcher and custom installation.

Installation folder vs. Documents folder
The program files and player files are different locations. The Sims 4 user-data folder is Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. It contains personal files such as saves; it is not the game’s installation directory. EA notes that this folder appears in Documents after the game has been played once in its PC-to-Mac transfer instructions.

If you need saves, mods, or a backup
Look in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 for player data, not in the launcher’s program folder. If the folder is missing, launch the game once and check Documents again; EA says it may not appear until then. For a save transfer, EA’s PC-to-Mac guidance describes copying the saves folder to a USB flash drive and then copying it into the corresponding Sims 4 Documents folder on the other computer. A flash drive is relevant to that optional transfer, not to finding the installation directory.
