Assault on Fort Rouge has three weapon workbenches: a rifle bench in the northern underground bunker, an SMG bench reached through the eastern edge of the old town, and a pistol bench in a shed in the abbey grounds. Each one unlocks a different attachment, listed in the table below.
The three workbenches at a glance
| Workbench | Where it is | Access | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rifle | Northern underground bunker, above the main hangar | Door at the end of a corridor; needs a key from an officer or a Satchel Charge | Rifle Caliber Conversion |
| SMG | Old town ruins, eastern side of the map | Remove the wooden boards blocking a tunnel below the staircase | Secondary Assault Kit |
| Pistol | Abbey grounds, just north of the red Kill List objective area | Pick the lock on a shed in the northeast corner of the grounds | Pistol Weight Reduction Kit |
How to reach each workbench
Rifle workbench: northern underground bunker
- Head to the top, northern part of the map and enter the underground bunker.
- Reach the passage with a blue tint above the main hangar, then enter the central room.
- Ignore the ladder that goes down from this room. Take the doorway opposite it instead, which leads out of the main hangar into a corridor.
- Follow the corridor, using the zipline on the left as a landmark.
- When the walls turn white, take the left turn.
- The workbench is behind the door at the end of that corridor. Open it with a key taken from an officer, or blow it open with a Satchel Charge.
SMG workbench: eastern old town
Go to the old town ruins on the eastern side of the map. Look for the staircase that leads underground, then remove the wooden boards blocking the tunnel. Follow the narrow passage down to the workbench.
Guides do not describe this route identically. Another walkthrough points to a derelict village in the southeast, an orange generator near an intersection, and stairs leading down. The landmarks differ in detail, so the most reliable cues are the eastern old-town entrance, the staircase, and the boarded tunnel. If the generator you see does not match a guide’s description, look for those three features instead.
Pistol workbench: abbey grounds
- Go to the abbey, just north of the red Kill List objective area.
- In the grounds, check the northeast corner for a shed.
- Pick the lock to enter. The workbench is inside.
Why the workbenches matter beyond their individual rewards
Push Square’s full workbench guide counts 22 workbenches across the game’s eight missions, and each one unlocks attachments for a weapon slot: rifle, secondary, or pistol. Finding and interacting with all 22 earns the Innovator Trophy. The three Fort Rouge workbenches are one part of that total, so picking up their rewards here counts toward the trophy alongside the rest.
