Costumes that aren’t DLC come from costume titles, which you unlock by ranking a title until its Costume skill appears, and then select from the Status menu. Attachments are chosen on the Status screen after the costume screen. The steps below follow the menu paths described in a January 2025 Siliconera guide and an RPG Site DLC guide, so check them against your version if a label has moved after a later patch.
Claim DLC attachments and costume items from the Items menu
Most of the remaster’s extra outfits and accessories arrive through the DLC tab rather than through a shop or a dungeon chest. The steps are the same whether you are claiming a costume item or an attachment.

- Open the main menu and select Items.
- Move to the DLC tab.
- Claim the items listed there. Any item that is available to you appears in this tab.
If a costume you expect is missing from the DLC tab, it may be one of the licensed items that the remaster does not include. The inclusion section below explains what the publisher has said about that.
How costumes are unlocked
A costume is not usable just because you own the item. Costume appearances are tied to costume titles, and the unlock happens through title rank. Three sources of costume unlocks are documented: DLC claims, collectible or purchasable in-game items, and quest rewards. The table shows what the sources state for each.

Find the costume title
Costume titles are marked with a cat-head icon in the title list, according to Siliconera. The PlayStation Store listing says more than 100 titles can be ranked up through battles, so the list can be long. Scan for the cat-head icon rather than reading every title name.
Rank the title until the Costume skill appears
- Equip the costume title on the character.
- Win battles to raise the title’s rank.
- Watch for the Costume skill to appear in the title’s skill list.
The Siliconera guide reports that the Costume skill appears at either Level 3 or Level 5, depending on the title. The guide does not list which titles use which threshold, so you may need to rank a title past the level you expect before the skill shows.
Equip costumes and attachments from the Status menu
Once the Costume skill is unlocked, the costume is selected from the character’s Status menu. The guides number the Status screens, and the costume and attachment screens are the fifth and sixth in that sequence.
Rank #2
- Fast-paced battles in which you can change your way of playing with the "Style-Shift Linear Motion Battle System".
- Now in remastered version with convenience enhancements such as auto memory, no encounters, optimized graphics and much more.
- An overwhelming story and a great gaming experience with pre-published content.
- Open the character’s Status menu.
- Go to the fifth screen to select a costume.
- Go to the sixth screen to equip an attachment.
Attachments do not need a title to be leveled first, so a DLC attachment you have claimed should be equipable from the sixth screen right away. The guides do not describe whether a costume can be changed in battle or only from the menu.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWhat the remaster includes from the original DLC
Bandai Namco Europe’s article “What’s New in Tales of Graces f Remastered?”, dated 23 September 2024, says: “More than 80 kinds of DLC (*excluding some licensed items) sold in the original version – e.g., costumes and chat – are included in the main game from the beginning!” Bandai Namco America’s launch announcement of 17 January 2025 says more than 80 DLC packs and items released for the original are included in the base game. The official product page adds that select licensed DLC is not included.
The published material does not give a complete list of which original costumes are present. Do not assume that every outfit from the original version has been carried over, and check the DLC tab before buying any older costume pack for this version.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Troubleshooting when a costume or attachment doesn’t appear
- The DLC tab shows nothing you expected: the item may be one of the licensed exclusions described above. The guides do not provide a comprehensive list of excluded items.
- The costume title is equipped but no costume is selectable: the title may not have reached the Level 3 or Level 5 threshold yet. Keep ranking the title through battles.
- An attachment is missing from the sixth screen: confirm that the attachment was claimed in the Items menu’s DLC tab first. Attachments don’t need title leveling.
- Menu labels differ from the steps above: the guides describe menus as they existed at their publication dates in 2025. Later patches or platform versions may have changed labels or screen order.
What the sources do not cover
The published guides explain the general menu process, but they do not provide a verified, item-by-item location list for every attachment and costume. Individual collectible spots, purchasable item stock, and quest names are not documented in the material available here, so this article does not list them. The publisher’s statements about DLC inclusion and the Siliconera and RPG Site walkthroughs are the basis for the steps above, and no separate testing was performed for this article.
Tales of Graces f Remastered is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam, according to Bandai Namco’s product information. The PlayStation Store lists PS4 and PS5 editions. The guides do not say whether menu steps differ between these platforms.
