Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteYou find the Nightsong at the bottom of the Gauntlet of Shar, in the Shadowfell area called Nightsong’s Prison. In Act Two, travel from the Grand Mausoleum through the Gauntlet to the Verge of Shadows, then enter the water portal and descend across the floating islands.
How to reach the Nightsong
- Enter the Gauntlet of Shar. In the Shadow-Cursed Lands, go to the Grand Mausoleum, north of the House of Healing. Solve the painting-button puzzle and use the traversal gem to enter the Gauntlet.
- Collect four Umbral Gems. Complete the Gauntlet’s three trials to get three gems, then obtain the fourth from orthon Yurgir.
- Open the route to the Verge of Shadows. Use one Umbral Gem at the Pedestal of Reckoning to power the lift. At the bottom, place the remaining three gems in the altar to open the final doors. The BG3 wiki also records Knock as an alternative for the final doors; the lift still requires a gem on the standard route.
- Get the Spear of Night if Shadowheart is with you. Before entering the Shadowfell, find the spear in the Silent Library. The book Teachings of Loss: The Nightsinger opens the Riddle of the Night pedestal chamber that contains it.
- Enter the Shadowfell and descend. Go through the final doors into the Verge of Shadows and step into the water portal. Follow the floating islands downward to the prison plateau, where the Nightsong is held.
Do this before entering the Shadowfell
Stepping into the Shadowfell is Act Two’s point of no return. Act One locations become inaccessible, and unfinished related quests may complete automatically or fail. Moonrise Towers content can also advance if you have not visited first. Finish any exploration and quests you want to do in Act One, Act Two, and Moonrise Towers before entering the pool.
Who the Nightsong is
The relic is Aylin, the Nightsong. Reaching her triggers a consequential story decision that affects later events; you do not need to make that choice to locate her.
