In Wizard101, “the history book” in Dragonspyre can mean one of two separate Plaza of Conquests objectives. For the “History of Dragonspyre” collection, the book is in General Greystone’s tower, at the top of the map near the Necropolis doors. For “The Art of War” (the “Read the History Book” step), the book is at the end of Halina Warhawk’s tower or dungeon. Check the exact objective text in your Quest Log before you start searching, because the two books sit in the same general area.
Match the quest wording first
The Plaza has two history-book objectives, and players in community forum threads often mix them up. Typical questions include “Where is the History Book in Plaza of Conquests?”, “what tower the book is in,” and “I can’t find the Art of War book.” The location answers below come from community replies on the official Wizard101 message boards. Those replies are older posts, so treat them as pointers and confirm the current objective and map in your game.

The “History of Dragonspyre” collection book
This objective belongs to a collection, so the Plaza volume is only one piece of it. Forum replies place the book in General Greystone’s tower, near the Necropolis doors at the top of the map. One reply notes that story progression is needed before you can get into that tower. If you can see the tower but cannot reach the doors, the main quest line is the likely blocker, not a missing item.
The “The Art of War” book in Halina Warhawk’s tower

- Take the letter to Lazlo.
The steps reflect what the forum replies describe. Dialogue and wording may have changed since those posts were written, so follow the on-screen objective when it differs.
If the book does not match what you expect
A generic hint such as “behind the lady” may point to either objective, so it is not enough on its own. Use the quest name and the map to decide which book you need. If the destination is locked, forum replies say side quests can send a character to areas the main story has not opened yet. In that case, continue the main quest line, then open the Quest Finder in the relevant area to see which quests are currently available.

Dragonspyre background and further reading
For setting context, Wizard101’s official world description calls Dragonspyre an ancient, haunted world. It says the world was once an advanced militant society with an esteemed Academy that rivaled Ravenwood, and that its inhabitants had a special interest in Fire Magic. It attributes the world’s destruction and transformation to the summoning of a Dragon Titan, and describes its surviving environment as fire, lava, and ghosts. This is publisher-written fantasy setting copy rather than a historical account of a real place.
For walkthroughs and expanded player-written material, the official Wizard101 community guide directory lists guides, including “Untold Stories: Dragonspyre” and a directory of main quest line guides. The directory states that its entries are community-created rather than made by the Wizard101 team, so treat them as community guidance and check them against the game.
